TroyBaros: I am just devastated that you have decided not to post any more until draft day! How about deciding not to post any more for good? You see, Troy, I like this site because of many things including finding out inside information. Your source may very well be right, but as others have pointed out to you, numerous times, it's in your delivery. If I had a choice of getting no inside info or getting it from someone who acts like an obnoxious ******* like you have done, then guess what, bub...I'm going to choose not wanting to getting any inside info. But then again, I have to remind myself that this is the individual who felt that someone off this BBS was deliberately paging him on his beeper to piss him off.
"What we're thinking (or we think he's thinking) when he says it" "Drama queen" "I'm making another of my brilliant and inciteful predictions, so pay attention. Whatever." "You're going to be disappointed and I'm going to gloat." "See, I was right all along. Love me." "Now, I'm going to stare at the BBS all weekend while you all panic over my post and give me the attention I so desperately want and need." "My name is Ms. Cleo." "Who?" "I am so smart. I am so smart. S-M-R-T. I mean S-M-A-R-T." Troy: Now, that I'm done funnin' with ya', seriously, why the attitude? If you make predictions that come true, you could be elevated to Doc Rocket or Oeilpere status. Instead, you act so asanine, no one WANTS to believe you even if you may be right. I think the stuff you post is intriguing. It makes for good discussion. But, the way you post is ridiculous.
Unless the issue is Houston, not contracts. Seriously, in approaching this "trade scenario," there are some reasons to believe it is possible. 1. The Clippers, Bulls and Rockets all have a history of dealing with one another. There teams in the NBA who are comfortable working deals (Rockets/Grizzlies for example) and these three have all had dealings before on multiple occassions. 2. The Rockets do covet Odom. 3. The Bulls LOVE Ming. 4. The Clippers have said they want to use their picks to obtain players or a higher pick. 5. Chicago is HIGH on China and Ming's list. etc, etc I don't have any clue if this is correct or not, but I would think there are some fairly credible reasons to consider the possibility regardless of Troy's poor delivery method. Will it happen? Who knows. But, it does make for interesting speculation.
Let's see, who is going to win us championships, fill the new arena and make the Rockets an exciting team for fans worldwide to watch and follow? Uhhh... Eddy Curry and Lamar Odom? Yes!!! Well, maybe, Tyson Chandler and, and Mike Olowokandi? Yes!!! Or, uhhh, maybe picks #8, #12 and, and Jamal Crawford? Or, maybe, Curry, Odom, Chandler, #8, #12, AND Jay Williams? Give us a freakin' break!!!!! We can have Ming AND Odom, Lewis or Butler.
I have a 'source' (reason). My source tells me that the Rockets will do what they think is in the best interest of the franchise. Tantalizing, ain't it?! p.s. don't worry about TB he knows he hung himself in his last thread. This one is for spite. p.s.2 money's on keeping Ming just b/c we need to fill the stadium, and the Asian community sounds more excited than the 'oh we might win if we have Lamar Odom' community. Les needs more! butts in seats. This is everything, according to my 'source' (right1 and my sentiments)
HEB, you have to remember that Rudy and CD's reputations are on the line here. A fourth consecutive trip to the lottery will not be tolerated.
I think the guy's reporting valid information, anyway, as far as he knows. But he's over-sensitive to the prior reactions he received about Steve's comments, and, therefore, set fire to the bridge behind him, not enough to burn it down, but to make his safe and temporary escape. Odom, Ming, Jay-Dub, Maggette, draft picks. And we'd have to give up a salary (Moochie?) so that we can match Odom's current $ I could see that, if Ming's handlers have determined the guy MUST play for the world-wide renowned Chicago Bulls. If that's the case, isn't it ironic: Ming needs to play for the already-well-known Bulls, although Jordan's been tearing down the house he built since the day he left it? OK, I'm done. Stop me before I metaphor again!
Ive been watching all this bickering carefully and although he is an arrogant SOB I am becoming inclined to believe Troy. Although sometimes arrogant and hardnosed he is a poster that does in fact contribute to the board, and only an idiot would be so arrogant unless he knew for sure. Lets look at what the teams want. Bulls want- Ming, Maybe Jwill, Although I am assuming that the Clippers dont want Ming so I am assuming the Bulls prize is ming. Clippers want- Jason Williams Rockets want- Sf, C Odom, Curry, Kandi, Pick Bulls have- #2 pick, maybe Curry as bait Clippers have- 8, 12, Odom Kandi Rockets Have Yao ming Im guessing it is something along the lines of Rockets get: Odom, Curry pick 8 or 12 Clippers get: Jason Williams, maybe a pick? Bulls get: Yao Ming and maybe a pick that seems a little sided in our favor but I think it is probably somewhere along those lines. I dont think Kandi can be traded yet so I left him out of it. The bulls suck and are desperete for the attention they used to have. Ming would give them that. Also The Clippers get rid of Odom, get a stud Pg. Troy also stated that Stevie gets what he wanted So maybe we are getting Jwill but I doubt it.
Be honest, its brash predictions or inside info that turned out to be true that helped make this board what it is today. As I recall no one beleived the Steve Francis deal until it happened either. Remember last year when Pops told us the day before the draft that we would trade all of our 1st round picks to move up to number 7? Maybe TB could use some help with his delivery but the guy did get instantly flamed as soon as he tried to mention he had an inside source. That thread was sure to die a quick death until Doc Rocket chimed in. I love threads like this.
That would be sweet but I think the Bulls would want the #8 pick to compansate for the loss of Curry since they would also be giving up the #2 pick. The Clipps resign Kandi, draft JayWill and plug Miles in at SF and they have a very good team. Now we have Curry, Griffin and Odom in our front court and the 12th and 15 th picks in the draft. Looks like a very good deal to me if it could be done. The possibilities are endless.
I'm hoping he is the latter. I believe him, but he is still an arrogant ass. I still dont think it is a 100% this deal gets done. Deals probably fall through more often then not. Rudy and CD are trying hard as hell to save their necks I guess. Odom and Curry for Ming is not a bad deal. I'd still rather draft Ming and trade KT and 15 for a small forward.
For grins and giggles: Rockets Trade: Rights to Yao Ming Moochie Norris Bulls pin (2 2nd round picks) Kenny Thomas Rockets Receive: Eddy Curry Rights to #8 pick (assume Butler or Tskitishvili) Keyon Dooling Rights to #12 pick (assume Borchardt?) Curry/Cato/Borchardt Griffin/Taylor/Thomas Tskitishvili or Butler/Rice/Morris Mobley/(Francis/Dooling) Francis/Dooling +15 pick....trade 15/12 for Borchardt if need be Bulls Trade: Rights to Jason Williams Eddy Curry AJ Guyton Bulls Receive: Rights to Yao Ming Lamar Odom (or Darius Miles) Moochie Norris Ming/Bagaric Chandler/Fizer Odom/Robinson Rose/Hassell Crawford/Norris Clippers Trade: Rights to #8 pick (Butler/Tskitishvili) Rights to #12 pick (Borchardt?) Lamar Odom (or Darius Miles) Keyon Dooling Clippers Receive: Rights to Jason Williams AJ Guyton Kenny Thomas Kandi/Rooks Brand/Thomas Miles/Maggette Richardson/Piatkowski Williams/Guyton Could tweak like throw out KT and the #12 or add the 15.
To all, These deals look great, but you forget an important added factor that must happen for them to actually go through....we must move at least one large contract and at least one smaller contract possibly two for this scenario to fulfill cap requirements. The only ones that I see making this happen capwise is Rice, KT and Collier. My guess is that the Rockets also would want a little bit more than just Odom and Curry plus a couple of picks for Ming, KT and Others. Here is my thinking... History has shown that the #1 pick commands a significant return. The perfect example is the Webber Hardaway trade. Webber for Hardaway and three first round picks. That is a HUGE payout. That would be similar to Ming, KT and filler for Odom, Brand, Curry and two first rounders. Just speculating here, but my guess is the Rox are going to ride the #1 pick for all it is worth. Anyway.... With any trade requiring us to unload one of the big three lame contracts (Rice, Mo and Cato), I would consider any of these scenarios a big upgrade to our team.
