To get the picks from NY we had to take jeffries (they needed to move him to free up more cap space this summer). It's only for one more year and now he becomes another exp contract for Morey to have in his stash next year. Not a bad deal at all. Got to give something to get something. Just cant get 1st round picks for nothing.

Any concrete news on the pick protection? The NY board says the 2011 pick is lotto protected.

That is pure insanity. Morey rebuilt the entire franchise with Landry and a washed up Tmac.

i should know the answer to this, but if they end up with a top 5 2012 pick, do we get some future compensation, or are we SOL?

ChadFordinsider: Knicks gave up A LOT for extra $9.5 mil in space. Hill, a Top 1 protected in 2011 and Top 5 protected in 2012. They better get 'Bron

Landry was not the most consistent player.

Is taking on Jefferie's contract gonna hurt our salary cap for next season?

I wanna give this man a handie.
Seriously, duping two teams at once is just brilliant. Kevin Martin for Landry? Wow.

Lebron isn't a fool. He has Antawn Jamison now. That makes them a championship contender this year. If they seal the deal this year, Lebron stays in Cleveland.

    NY is ****ed.

Now let's hope that TMac plays well this season, then hope that TMac sucks the next two seasons so:
    1. Screw the Jazz's pick.
    2. Get NY to sign a big contract with him, preventing them from signing other big FA in the summer.
    3. Land us high lotto picks in '11 and '12.

Objectively, Jamison won't win them a championship. If no championship this season Lebron is probably a NY Knickerbocker.

question...what happens if the picks actually end up #1 or top 5? How would it be re-structured?

Normally then, the pick Houston would get would be following season with less protection.

I really really really like Landry, but it's a good trade.

I said it makes them a "contender", not a winner. Any team in the NBA can beat any team. It does boost the probability of them getting to the championships at the very least.

And after Lebron sees how Walsh handles this blockbuster trade, is he seriously going to want to come to NY just to play with an aging injured Tslack with no heart? If anything, Tmac's presence will ward him off once he watches the injuries that will descend upon the knicks after Tmac joins their bench.(Just kidding on this last part...kinda.)

I love it how Walsh was so adamant about only giving up 2 of his three assets and having the picks top 10 protected, then he ends up giving away all three assets with almost no protection for the picks. And Lebron will likely stay in Cleveland, leaving him with something like Rudy Gay and Amare as his pickups.

    Walsh is Adam here:
