Wow...I was ok with the Sacto deal this AM, but was thinking that losing Landry really hurts.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still miss Landry, but to get Hill plus the draft picks (especially if the protection mentioned a few posts back is true), this is an awesome deal!

Knicks get raped by DM. To lose JJ's salary, they had to give us a former #8 pick, the 2012 pick and the right to swap 2011 picks.

And I do not see how in the very least how Lebron would see the Knicks as an upgrade over the Cavs.

Chron says we still take on Armstrong and KT. Not sure if that fits within salaries still, but explains why Kings are good in including knicks. They take back less salary and don't have to deal with tmac wishing he were someplace else.

I like Carl and all but the Queens got rolled on this one.

This move takes care of today, next year (though we might have to move some more expirings) and the future.

    Well played Morey...well played.

I'm not complaining, but i'm still really sketchy in how Jeffries was stuck on Houston. After all from what we know the deal was 1-1 straight up to the Kings and the Kings had the option to send him to NY. If NY was that third team then they had to take on Jeffries. See what i'm saying. Somehow they got it approved by throwing Jeffries on Houston. I dont think that was the deal. Its like if McGrady goes anywhere then automatically assume Jeffries to Houston. That is a mix up in negotiations. Was Jeffries a virus around the league to have to be included in any McGrady scenario? I'm confused lolz..

Stop complaining about jeffries being in the deal. You have to take something bad back for assets. You guys can't just expect to trade crap and get back diamonds....geez

morey bascially turned hughes into martin, without ever taking on hughes to begin with...like i mentioned before, i think morey had it planned, a sure deal in place with Sac, squeeze the knicks as much to get them to put up their best offer, then go back to sac at the last minute, forcing NY to get involved.

It's important to state that Morey isn't the only one who came through here. Les did too. He's going to be spending a LOT of money but now the Rockets can be pretty good in the present while still having a great future.

No deal was done yet. It was an "agreement in principle" which means that they have a contingency in place to make a deal between the 2 teams if NY doesn't come begging to give them fellatio.

    Which. They. Did.

Once NY entered the room again, Jared Jeffries was their price for giving up 2 basically unprotected first round picks and Jordan Hill. JJ needs to be off their table if they hope to sign a top Free Agent in the future.

Which, if they are targeting Lebron, will be unlikely--as everyone in the league with half a brain recognizes how badly NY got raped on this deal.

Money. If we wanted the picks then we needed to take salary. Waiting to see the full details on the protection.. seen a few different versions running around but damn Morey... DAMN.
