True, but the Celtics can pull it off because they have a roster of excellent, switchable defensive players. If Green, KPJ and Sharpe all hit their ceiling as defenders, they still probably don't come remotely close to what Boston has with Smart, Brown and Tatum defensively.
um the one lottery that everyone says was rigged was already public. This was when people claimed that the Knicks had a folded envelope when Stern randomly picked one from the pile.
That is the question I have. While Green will take a ton of shots, he doesn’t need the ball to be effective. You can play him with another perimeter scorer and it should be fine. He’s not Harden.
also Marcus Smart has actually become a real point guard. His assist to turnover ratio has improved every year; he’s about 3:1 now. We don’t have a guy who can run the floor like that.
Dame is 32 this summer, what good does pairing a 19 year old kid with a 32 year old player do? If Portland got the #1 pick, then they would likely trade Dame for more draft picks or younger players and jumpstart their rebuild.
Yes, he has improved, now in his 8th season. He averaged 2:1 his first four years. We have a guy doing better than that in year 3 who is also still improving (and averaged more assists this year than Smart, scored more points and shot a better percentage at all levels). The “grass is greener” mindset is amazing when it comes to KPJ. I wish we had drafted him and he was a part time bench/RGV player … ya’ll would be calling for Silas’s head for not starting him at PG.
I’m excited about KPJ’s development. Hope he continues to improve next season with no negative drama.
So the Rockets are the only team sending a General Counsel and Stone is a lawyer too? I think we’ll be ready to file immediate motions if there is any funny business. “Your Honor, the evidence is clear and incontrovertible. Verily did the NBA afflict our organization whence executing a nefarious scheme of favoritism by cajoling the dishonest results of the presumed fair drawing. We ask for remedy in the form of the first three picks forthwith and the first two picks in the 2023 NBA Draft. An amicus brief submitted by clutchfans.net will also be filed concurrently. Sincerely, R. Stone, Esquire.”
Now that we experienced the lottery first hand, I'd have to say it hasn't disincentivized losing one iota. It's a lot more interesting. But we been doing everything possible to lose and there is a reward for doing so.
I'm all for Jaden Ivey. He could be a better looking version of Ja. We don't have a PG yet and he could be perfect next to Jalen. Could literally be the most exciting backcourt of all-time.
