ok - I made fun of the guy when it was posted, but just read this article and his words are commendable. Hopefully, his actions follow suit. Houston rapper speaks out after fatal nightclub shooting http://blog.chron.com/newswatch/2012/06/houston-rapper-speaks-out-after-fatal-nightclub-shooting/ ....“I don’t know what started the shooting or who was targeted I just know that the crowd of people started moving in my direction and we were basically all sitting ducks at that point. A case of wrong place, wrong time.” Police said that Thompson, who is known as “Poppa C,” had become involved in a domestic dispute Sunday and received threats to his life. Thompson also had been involved in a similar shooting on Nov. 25, 2011, outside Breakers nightclub on Bissonnet that ended the life of rapper Dominic Levar Brown, known as Money Clip D and reportedly Trae’s right-hand man. “Ninety-eight percent of the (rap) industry has called me this past two days to check on me and offer their support,” Trae The Truth tweeted. “I’m truly grateful for that. Now it’s my turn to reach out to the affected families to see what can be done on my end to help them cope with their loss.”
Who? Trae the Motha F'n Truth. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nWSOtJ4eT_g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
So overrated. In 2008, Trae Tha Truth was awarded by the mayor of Houston,*Bill White and Council Member*Peter Brown with his own day, Trae Day, in honor of his outstanding work within the community. This is the first time the honor has been extended to a rap artist. Trae Day was celebrated July 22, 2008.
