I think if Boston trades Pierce someone needs to take on Raef's monster contract. We would need a third team to make that work as im not sure what we can offer that Boston would want. Usually teams that are rebuilding want young talent / draft picks / expiring contracts.

We do have the following trade bait.

Stro - nice young talent, decent contract, the P word (potential)
    Mooch - expiring contract
DWes - decent shot, veteran, expiring contract
JHoward - i would hate to ship him to a losing team as he has been nothing but professional

You're high as a kite if you think Frye would be packaged in an effort to dump Marbury.

You're nuts if you think we could get Paul Pierce without an even crazier and more lopsided scenario than when we got McGrady.

Hedo isn't really worth going after.

We can certainly trade in the West, but it wouldn't likely be within our division. Don't forget our dealing with the Hornets just last season.

    Our needs:
    1. A swingman that can play both ways, create, and shoot with range. Preferrably without a foot in the grave. Ricky Davis would have been perfect for that, but he's off the market now.

    2. A PF with decent size that can rebound, set picks, and hit 15-footers. PJ Brown or Haslem-mold.

    Actual on-the-block candidates:
    1. Trevor Ariza, Michael Pietrus
    2. Wilcox?

I don't see a lot of great guys out there that are get-able for us. Hopefully Les and CD surprise us and pull a rabbit out of their hat.

thats a lot closer to what it would take to get him. not the posts we are seeing moochie & j howard for pierce. but 3 1st round picks and a decent rookie is a lot. but it sure would be interesting to watch. that would be kind of a poor mans version of kareem, magic, and james worthy. and if they could manage to win 2-3 rings then they wouldnt probably be considered to poor anymore.

I'd give you Swift + Head + Wesley + Mooch (cap filler) + next year's unprotected 1st round pick for Pierce.

I have no idea what you are implying, but I don't like it one bit.

What would you guys say to trading T-Mac for Paul Pierce and a draft pick or one of their young guys like Kendrick Perkins. There are always rumors that the Celts are going to move Pierce because the Celts just haven't lived up to expectations, Danny Ainge would only look to trade Pierce for a similar superstar like T-Mac, I am worried about T-Mac's health and Pierce rarely misses a game and we might pick up another piece we need on the team.

If Baron Davis can get traded for Speedy Claxton then Paul Pierce can get traded for Stromile Swift.

Come on man be reasonable. If you had Pierce would you trade him away for Moochie Norris, Stromile Swift, and David Wesley?

    Moochie is no good.

Stromile Swift has unlimited potential, but as of now isn't an interesting prospect for other teams (i'm assuming?)

David Wesley is getting old, he'll be good for what, 2 years?

Paul Pierce is a stud not even in his prime, he's so good, no way we're getting him for those 3.

Plus why have T-mac and Pierce on the same team, Pierce is just a downgraded T-Mac...

If anything, trade for young, potential filled players, but who's going to give up theirs?

BTW why are we having these trade speculations? Too keep us from being bored? It's not like we're trading anymore. I would think that the management just wants the chemistry from this team. We are in dire need of a back up center though. But look at the bright side for the future:

    Chuck Hayes = beastly.
Lonnie Baxter is a beast, whether he knows it or not.
Luther Head has potential, he's just in a little slump right now.
Stromile Swift, I'm still thinking this guy could be useful someday.

    The questions?

    Isn't Barry going to retire?
How much does Sura have left?
    What good is Anderson?
    What good is Howard? (Age)
    How long will Dikembe last?
    How long will Wesley go?
