Thats pretty much what I thought. If Brown and Rivers were given permission to interview by their teams, then i would expect some of the media in Orlando and Philly to leak something about it.

I personally woud love to have Dr. Jack Ramsey as our coach. He could teach fundamentals to the team for a couple of years and when he was ready to step down, a finisher could come in to win the championship for us.

Wooden and Ramsey would need Nurses to help them perform their duties, I think they are a little past it!

The "jv" reporter didn't say that about Van Gundy...he had an interview with Peter Vescey who said it on camera.

    Does that count?

Isn't it against NBA policy for other teams to contact other coaches already under contract without the other team's permission?

Of the three, my order of preference would proabably be

    1) Dunleavy
    2) Brown
    3) Rivers

Something about Brown that I don't like. The way he is always tinkering with the team. The on again / off again relationship with the team and its players. I don't know exactly.

Still, I would also like to see Donnie Nelson (Jr.) as a candidate if he is looking to coach. I'd very much like to see a good offensive coach (and a good defensive assistant) to at least make it enjoyable when we lose. Plus, we'd have another reason to hate the Mavs.

    Bill Walton, anyone?

Not that he's ever expressed an interest in coaching. But I can't think of anyone who has both the passion and intelligence for the game that Walton does; who played on a team (the 76-78 Blazers) that should be the model for the current Rockets; who, not incidentally, loves Yao Ming.

I don't know if Walton could be persuaded, but if he could be I'd take him over anyone that's been mentioned so far (i.e., Van Gundy, Brown, Silas, Dunleavy, Rivers, Larry Smith).
