I think we will go 6-4, for a record of 10-11. The next 12 games I feel we will be in a groove and go 9-3. I'm calling it, by January 1, 2011 we will be 18-14.
Our test will come in January, if we are not playing our best basketball this month will eliminate us from the playoffs. There are 17 games with only Knicks, Wolves and Clippers as games we should win. All the other teams are teams that are playoff bound. We will have to go 11-6, which will be a hard task. Sun 02 @ Portland Mon 03 @ Denver Wed 05 vs Portland Fri 07 @ Orlando Sat 08 vs Utah Mon 10 @ Boston Wed 12 vs Oklahoma City Fri 14 vs New Orleans Sat 15 @ Atlanta Mon 17 vs Milwaukee Wed 19 vs New York Fri 21 @ Memphis Sat 22 vs Orlando Mon 24 @ Minnesota Wed 26 vs LA Clippers Thu 27 @ Dallas Sat 29 @ San Antonio
We can't afford to go 8-9 (26-23) because the number 8 seed in the West record will be at least 50-32, which would mean we will have to go 24-9 the rest of the way.
This team has some heart, but sometimes heart isn't enough. Until we get that clutch 4th quarter presence we wil continue to struggle through the year. Simple and plain.
I agree with you.. i think we'll be 9-11 - but i think we'll lose to OKC twice, and beat the Bulls in Chicago. I think the fact that Lowry played so many minutes last night cost us the game. He was noticeably much slower in the 4th and had a hard time keeping up with Rose. I think over the past 3 games, this is the best defense i've seen in a long time. There wont be many occasions where the Rockets hold their opponent to 95 points (last 6 on free throws) and end up losing. Lowry played 10-too many minutes... 43 is TOO MUCH for lowry. Rose had 16 through 3 quarters and 17 in the 4th. Lowry played the entire 2nd half. And Martin was clearly struggling with his shooting. Some of his shots were COMPLETELY off.. even threw up an air-ball that was wide-left! Very uncharacteristic. I'm not worried.. we'll be alright. I'd rather have the bumps in the road now than later when it really matters.
04-05 team started at 6-11 and ended up winning I think 52 games. We will be ok. I highly doubt Morey stays put with this squad BTW. After we aquired Jon Berry and David Wesley that year we took off.
3-7 looks REALLy bad. But considering we were 0-5 we may finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. The question is. What will happen when Yao comes back? Losing streak or coach will finally figure things out?
Never. If we're doing this badly, you don't make a move unless it's the kind of move that can turn the franchise around. Otherwise you may as well get that top 5 lottery pick and hope to turn the franchise around via the draft.
I agree. I don't think the Rockets can be "fixed" with anything less than a franchise caliber player. If one can't be traded for, then the lottery is our only other option.
I'm gonna play it safe and continue being pessimistic. 6-14 sounds more like it. So far I haven't seen any reason to get too upbeat about with this new Rockets team. Better be prepared for disappointment than wishful thinking and getting burned once again, down the line.
Ermmm hello, plz wake up from ur delusion Why another 10 games, lets give em another 72 before everyone realizes that we arent all that2 -_-. Reality is a biatch.

It looks good to me. But I switch Phoenix with Chicago. I think vs phoenix we will still be with out our major guns. I'll hope so. We can be 2 games under by that time and we can have everybody back. We are usually a very good 2nd half team, we should pick up after the all start but I hop we don't dig a to deep of a hole.
I think we need to give up some guys to improve. The expiring contracts you start there and Brooks. You get a guy slightly better than Brooks is and plays a little defense for all of that. You dont give up any youth or picks in the deal. Just Battier, Brooks, Jeffries if needed to make money match. Maybe Patterson or Hill if it sthat good of a player. Then? You draft a guy with all the picks we have saved up. We might get a pretty high draft pick from New York? Thats the only real strategy. You go with Yao/Miller Scola/Hayes ???/Budinger ???/Martin/Lee ???/Lowry You have the upgrade you got off the Brooks and Battier trade. Maybe you throw in Courtney Lee to sweeten the deal? Thats a real good lineup and you still have your high draft pick from New York possibly? You could make moves later still. I mean throw in a guy of Brooks caliber but has a little more size and defense and how good is that team then? You get close right? Thats the idea to get closer.
