    From the ESPN.com article...

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=173288&cc=5901

The Americans pressured much more at the start of the first half, and Eddie Lewis scored in the 59th minute off a feed from Landon Donovan. Some Mexican fans responded by chanting "Osama! Osama!''

There was booing and whistling during "The Star-Spangled Banner'' and derisive chants whenever Kasey Keller took goal kicks.

    Simply classless.

Mexico dominated the match, but it is hardly the end of the world....the USA wins on a nuetral field...

That isn't justified but you can't sit here and say that all of them are r****ds and stuff...i am sorry but the US has some of the crappiest fans and people out there as well..i am sure they would boo and make comments just like any other country....we have some of the most biased people in the world living here...so i could care less what's going on in the stands...the game is made on the pitch or the court in any other sport...

All the other stuff they report in the news is useless to me when it comes to the final outcome of the game....the fans don't play the game.

The way mexico was making shot oppurtunites i am not sure they would have lost to the US in a nuetral place...they were a much more aggresive team from what i saw and had better scoring opportunities the whole time.

If not for the great play of Keller to stop a lot of those shots...they would have been routed.

Mexico dominated, and with their new young players, i doubt US will beat em again in a while.

Mexico has beaten us twice in the last nine meetings. Azteca is one of the hardest places to play in the world. We'll get the in the US next time.

I will start a poll tomorrow morning, DAVid... based upon your suggestion for LeRoy420's signature:

Viva Mexico, Cabrones! sounds good, but I don't want to insult anyone's lack of knowledge of my language. What else can I use?

    I thought of:

"MeXiCo 2 - EE.UU 1.... AY AY AY AY... CANTA Y NO LLORES!!!!"
    or
"MeXiCo 2 - U.S. of North America 1... who's the next customer (to receive U.S.'s escort services to the World Cup)???"

Or should I just get a few and start a poll???? ;)

    Thanks, David!

No excuse, Mexico was by far the better side, but they hardly play that well away from Azteca stadium.

I was hoping for a draw.....the US was too tenative, but it is a long qualifying round...we will get em up here....as close to the Canadian border as possible.

    :)

Umm, this is soccer and soccer culutre. Racism, countryism, and violence are all fair game. I think that a player was killed by the "mob" in his country after he scored in his own goal accidentally. Not to mention countless riots and down right classless chants that go on in the stands when rivals play.

At least until September 3rd when we will kick your butts in Columbus. :p

Sorry about the r****ds comment, but it was totally classless. I guarantee that you won't hear anyone booing the Mexican national anthem in Sept when we meet again.

OK. I will have your SIG tomorrow morning.

Notice how you can go and say "oops" about your comment. In the heat of battle, you said it, and then took it back. I bet if many of those OSAMA chanters could take it back, they would.

Anyway, like wizkid said, it's only in the game... and FOR the game, other passionate soccer/futbol fans would agree. Not to say anything bad about the U.S., but we know that one thing about BUSH, is that he hasn't found OSAMA yet... that's what the chant was about, not making fun of the many people who lost their lives. (+)

    Until September 3rd it is.

The US played horrible, or did Mexico play that great...probably a little of both, but more on the US side...Only watched the first 45 minutes, then drove back to Dallas...

Sports and nationalism can be a nasty mix, IMO, nowhere worse than soccer it seems.
