What makes you think he'll ever be? You don't develop a killer instinct. You either have it or you don't.
funny thing is melo got heat for taking a jumper in the clutch over 2-3 defenders instead of passing earlier this year.
Durant would've taken it. I agree that's the correct basketball play you make during the game. When the game's on the line, if your the star on your team and you have the athletic ability to shoot over anyone, and you just nailed two difficult jumpers just a few minutes ago, you have to take the responsibility and live or die with your shot.
I'm always skeptical of Wade shooting free throws at the end of a game..he has a tendency to miss one of 2. Is it just me?
What the hell was Lebron thinking passing up the final shot? He was on fire and yet he chose to give the final shot to frigging Haslem? Sometimes he just makes these plays that make you scratch your head.
It looked like a set play by Spolestra. Is he trying to protect his stars from getting flack just in case they miss? Lebron probably should've just stepped up and said let me take him.
Haslem is known for hitting clutch baseline jumpers. He's also made a few from the elbow and FT line. In that situation, the Heat should draw it up where either LeBron or Wade takes the shot. With both guys on the floor, no excuse for that not to happen. But I can't fault them too much for having Haslem take a wide open jumper.
dude there is a reason that halsem was so open. It's because he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. There are players that I would trust in that spot, but that is only after lebron is triple teamed. horry comes to mind. even battier. haslem, hell naw.
and if steve nash (2-time mvp) made that exact same pass, it would have been "the smart decision". gimme a wide open free throw with 2 seconds left on the clock by anybody on the court vs. a fade-away on baseline (at best) over 2 defenders by lebron james, kobe bryant, anybody. the guy is getting unjust criticism. just because people are idiots and treat the intentionally-contrarian and controversial garbage that skip bayless and other talking heads spew as gospel.
What about how Lebron had those nasty stares like he owned the universe when he hit those 2 threes in a row. He settled right down after Harris faked and blew right bby him. He then shut down shop as soon as he received that pass from Battier.
Keep in mind I did say chances are slim, but I actually base it off of how clutch he USED to be before going into the weird sh-t he does now. The 48 against Detroit, game winners against Washington in playoffs, GW against Orlando, duel with Pierce, duel with Wade... He has GOT to get that mindset back if he wants to get a ring.
ok, coach. so it's spoelstra's mistake for putting haslem into the game with 4 seconds left then, right?
