Amin Elhassan is a former NBA scout and former NBA assistant director of basketball operations, which means he knows more about the NBA than you. But, then again, it doesn't take much to eclipse your knowledge of basketball.

The Heat organization might suspend him more games.

I really wish he gets his leg snapped right in half and retires

Why would you wish something like that on a professional sports person?

A former scout who lives and dies by the phrase "#HateHard"

Real classy guy who shows an inclination to NEVER be biased and always shows the utmost respect to his followers... especially when they challenge the great and power god of basketball Amin Elhassan.

[rQUOTEr]After being fairly composed most of the season, what happened to you the past two weeks?
“I just had a lot going on in my personal life. I don’t really want to speak on it. It won’t happen again.”

How will you deal with these situations going forward?
“I’ll just try to walk away. Retaliating is not the answer in this league. I just kinda hope my coaches and my teammates and the ref can keep me safe. Retaliating and trying to get back at people is not the answer.”

What was your phone call with Olynyk like?
“He was a really nice guy. I felt worse about it after I talked to Kelly. He said, ‘Don’t jeopardize your future. You’ve got a bright future ahead of you, so don’t get caught up in that stuff. Just keep doing what you’re doing.’ He was such a nice guy, man, so I felt even worse about it. He said he appreciated my apology to him.”

    How have your teammates reacted?
“Everybody understands I made a mistake. I’m gonna leave it in the past. I’m really new in this league and I’m learning every day. I learned that I made a mistake.”

How was your time away from the team?
“It hurt. It felt weird watching the guys on TV. I’m glad that we won. I was at home just cheering… I was excited to get back with the guys and come on this road trip.”

I am confused. Is he trying to say that he "retaliated" because he didn't feel safe? And he said Olynyk was actually a nice guy. So what was the retaliation for? How was it supposed to keep him safe?

Maybe it's just me and I have a bias against him for being an utterly classless, immature player and the league didn't come down hard enough, but....

His words don't sound to me sincere to me. I know it's difficult to gauge his feelings just by the transcript, but when you say things like he hopes others can keep himself safe and that he learned he made a mistake, it sounds very fake. He should keep himself safe and his temper in check. He's responsible for himself, not his coaches, teammates, or the refs. And he should know he made a mistake. It's not a learning experience. It's as if he didn't know right from wrong prior to this.

This guy had huge red flags before and after this. Stay away with a 50 foot pole.

    Once again,

    non-guaranteed contract. R-I-S-K-L-E-S-S

We shoulda signed him and dealt with this problem. Just like Miami is doing. He'll get over it and become a very good player in this league. Or he'll get cut.

    R-I-S-K-L-E-S-S

We owe Joey Dorsey another $1 million next season.

I should neg rep you for bringing up Joey Dorsey's contract. Giving him 2 years of guaranteed money? Baffling.

I agree with you as to your bias and how it led you to consider his words insincere.

I have no problem believing he will turn out right because of the team he is on and the leadership on that team.
From Riley to Wade, Bosh and Deng. I'd be willing to bet such dirty play from Whiteside doesn't become the norm and he keeps getting more mature even when the big contract arrives.

While I know it's expected as just typical PR to say something like that after you do something stupid, I do think Hassan legitimately loves the game and just has some maturity issues that he wants to work past.

I mean I don't recall Bynum ever saying anything like that after all the stupid s*** he did.
