LOL... I am old enough to remember that the republican senators blocked any witnesses testifying at the last impeachment trial. But sure... I say let there be witnesses. Lots of witnesses. I am sure it will help republican senators rule in favor of the seditious traitor that incited his maga followers to attack the capitol and kill people.

 

Totally agree. There should be a full accounting of what happened. My guess is that the GOP will try to stop witnesses. Given that several have already said they will vote to try to end the trial as soon as possible tell me that most of them don't want it to last very long. Cornyn probably didn't get the memo.

 

I am especially interested in hearing testimony on any involvement republican congressmen and staff had in the planning and execution of the assault n the capitol. Since it sure seemed hat some of the terrorists had knowledge of the layout and whereabouts of certain members of congress. And there have been reports to tours given...

What does the Trump Doctrine say about proceeding?

Trump investigated with intent his predecessor (Obama), his 2016 opponent (Hillary) and his 2020 opponent (Biden).

 

The spineless GOP will not convict him, even after people were killed and they witnessed it first hand, that's the appalling part. Trump was right, he could shoot a man on 5th avenue and he would lose any voters, they would come to his defense because there a$$ kissers who don't want to piss off a bunch of racists

 

It proves the Republican party is undying because of the 2 party system and because a good chunk of America has been reduced to fighting over scraps while over-consuming themselves into indebtedness.

 

The truth hurts but very few are ready to accept reality.

 

Some regions are becoming more and more American Taliban-ish from the insistence of keeping obselete dead-end jobs (coal mining is my pride!) or rejecting higher paying white collar office work. There's definitely a need for manufacturing, but the straight up entitlement or rejection of reinventing yourself has become borderline insane to the point where they desperately wanted to believe a bloated gasbag who never created anything physical himself, rather a brand and licensing model built upon flim flam, rule bending, and lies.

I truly feel for people losing hope watching their communities dry up while getting hooked on opioids. I don't like how Republicans weaponized that desperation into something political and a matter of zero-sum entitlements (us v. minoritiies). Their ideas of socialism are also wretched when they'll take unearned paychecks as bribes for their votes (Iowa)

Overall it's pure Identity Politics (of One) for the party complaining that the other plays that hand too much.

 

They disgust me. My God, what had become of that party? They are truly evil self-serving power mongers without a shred of respect for democracy if they vote no to impeach Trump for everything he did.

 

The country needs healing and policies that support healing but the leaders of our country only understand driving division to line their pockets. It’s tragic and shameful.
