I think Biden will be pretty hands off, letting the Congress and Department of Justice do their own remedies. There's so much work to be done overturning everything Trump's f***** up, and he's going to need some legislative cooperation. He can bring the unity message while the others bring the heat.
The longer they wait the less chance of conviction and preventing him from running again. There's also the issue of if the Senate can hold a trial and even convict him after he's out of office.
Part of what I'm saying is that we're going to learn a lot over the next month. It will get easier to learn things about his treachery after the 20th as well, in my humble estimation.
I don't think that's true, the longer this goes the more information is going to become public. We learned about Watergate conspirators a year into the investigation, then almost all of them went to jail
Impeachment is a political solution. States and the DoJ will explore the legal solution. We have next to no time to impeach and remove Trump, especially if McConnell is unwilling. The DoJ has all the time in the world to fully prosecute Trump for all of his crimes.
Would you really want to be a Republican in the House or Senate...and go down on the wrong side of history by letting this imbecile off the hook from being impeached given what happened? Good luck with that. That's not a good look.
Because I agree the people that stormed the capitol were idiots and deserve to be arrested. Does that change my position that I think the election is rife with fraud? Nope. But that doesn't mean I agree that peaceful protests in connection with that cause need to get destructive or illegal, either.
