I actually agree that the matchup is better in the first round as the #3 seed. But then you have to worry about the second round, where we would potentially be playing Denver without homecourt advantage. I'm still pretty confident we could win that series, but I'm not sure it's worth playing the Hornets instead of the Mavs in the first round. Although, it does give me pause.
Also, as Morey noted earlier today, if we lose tonight than the most likely outcome is we'll be a 5th seed. The only thing the Rockets should be focusing on at this point is winning tonight. Portland is probably favored against Denver tonight since its a home game for them. Assuming they win, a loss tonight will take us from 2nd seed and HCA through first two rounds all the way down to 5th seed. The only way the stakes could be higher for a regular season game is if we could potentially be eliminated from the playoffs.
I think if you just admitted that you screwed up, this thread would come to a quick halt. As it is, you've got some people confused trying to make sense of your nonsense.

You can't say that the matchup is better in the first round as the 3 seed because we don't know who will be the 6 or 7 seeds. None of this is determinable until the games are played tonight. Everything starts with a Rockets win. That's all we can know.
BTW, there is NO matchup set at the 2 or the 3.....how can anyone be better? I will take the higher seed and HCA through the first two rounds..thank you. DD

Which matchup? You've had ample opportunity to clarify what you're talking about, and you haven't done so. To me, this thread so far shows you don't deserve to have thread creation privileges and you deserve demotion. But if you actually explain what you mean -- which is your obligation as the thread creator -- then you can redeem yourself.
