101-88. Ball game with that 3 pointer. Hornets tightened up while the Spurs played desperate. The Hornets were not emotionally prepared to close out this game. Lack of experience and lack of a killer instinct doomed them. IMO, they were the better team most of the game and just wilted in the 4th quarter.
its not just david west its the entire hornets team. Did you see after bowen made that 3? Instead of regrouping they were just cursing. Watch the game vs hornets during our streak, the one we beat them by 20 at their home court. Notice all the Ts they got. They are a team with some serious attitude, other than paul none of the others have proven themselves to think jack**** about themselves
oberto? I thought the one against Parker was the worst where he just flew on the sidelines....there was this one time he ran into shane's back and lay pretending for a good 30 secs. When they called the foul on him he just got up flopping is cheating
After 1st 2 games, everyone call for Pop to put Parker on Paul, Bowen on Peja. You cant let Peja, Peterson, Pargo, those bunches score 30+ on you and win the game. Let Paul + West score and stops the others. good adjustment by Pop. Pop's listening! What a show by Parker and Paul! btw, there are so many carries of the ball by Parker and Paul when they dribble.
it looks like the spurms baited CP3 into a one-on-five, isolation, make the spectacular play if you can game. dude totally forgot about his team down the stretch.
It's not a good adjustment. It's getting things right finally. Pops made the mistake of not covering Peja and other shooters on the Hornets and it cost him first two games. He should just let Paul have his points and make sure the shooters are covered tightly. If Peja is having a big game, it makes Hornets very hard to beat. We do well against Hornets because Battier basically hounds Peja all game and that takes a lot away from Hornets offense.
Actually, in that case it more than evened out. We got better end of the deal since we were able to get rid of Mike Jame's contract.
Pop was probably stuck on the Bowen on Nash mindset. But that was stupid. It became Bowen on Paul, Parker on Peterson, and Finley on Peja. Basically 3 mismatches handed out on a plate in the 1st 2 games.
It's just fun to watch, especially when both are shooting at the 50% range, and so did Manu. Gosh, when can we have such high percentage finishers?
I am wodering why Pop didn't see it since everyone else can see it. Maybe, because Duncan was sick and Manu was injured, Pop had to give up the first two games.
