Hornets suck even if they some how pull of the miracle of winning this series the will get smashed on by the Lakers.

Mann i wish we still had Bonzi. That foul on Bowen was great. I would have loved to see him do that to Kirilenko or Hapring. He wouldnt take that physical bs the jazz try. Plus he would have taken all of luthers minutes and we wouldnt have bobby jackson throwing up crap fadeaway 3s.

Why do they "suck"? Break it down.

You may be right about the Lakers. (I doubt that would be an easy series for either team, given the matchups.) But it won't be a "miracle" if they get by the Spurs.

Finally, note the corrections I made for you in Hornets teal.

They suck because I say they do and I hate Cry Baby Paul and the fact that are reaching levels of sucess we have not seen in years in a relatively short time.

Do you ask people that hate on the jazz for rational?

I still think it would be a huge upset if they beat the Spurs.

    No, that would be redundant.

But this is the NBA forum, and people suppose get thinky.

I think your argument is that it would be a miracle for the Hornets to win because: (1) Paul is a crybaby, and (2) the Hornets got good way too fast to be legit.

I'm not sure #1 is going to hold them back unless he gets whimpy and distracted under pressure. It could happen. Point #2 is pretty valid, since they have very little playoff experience and even the 2nd round must feel alien to them. Their coach has definitely seen it before though. He is underrated, if you ask me. He did pretty well with a stinky Nets team, if you recall.

Still a lot of time left but SA is on the verge of being 0-2.

17 down, end of 3rd. Yea Spurs, try to get out of this one.

Peja is some kind of 3pt God; CP3 is just unreal. The Bucks and Hawks must cry when they watch this man. (Even Utah should try, a juiced up Bruiser/DWilliam combo is nothing)

    Spurs defense looks ordinary.

Ginobli has been a turnover machine this game.

    Duncan looks like a scrub.

And they just gave Hornets one thing they never should have, confidence.

I may not like Chris Paul but what a player! Still 12 mins left but this looks like a repeat of Saturday where once the Hornets get a lead in the 2nd half, they step on the Spurs' neck.

The Hornets are just a very poor matchup for the Spurs. I could see it when they played each other during the regular season. The fact the Hornets are up 17 with David West shooting so poorly is a bad sign for the Spurs.

when can we surround tmac/yao with that kind of support that the hornets have surround paul and west? peja is going off, wright, mo pete even.

we never have 4 guys going at home. we only hope for that 3rd guy.

Damn, we would've beaten the Hornets pretty easily if Yao is healthy.

New Orleans has a pretty big payroll for a very small market that will only be getting bigger. That is the silver lining in all of this. :D

i think a healthy rocket team may be the only team that is actually a bad matchup for the hornets...and maybe the jazz

hornets can hang with anyone else no problem, including the lakers.

I can see why people think Yao would pose a huge mismatch with an advantage to us - but wasn't that what Duncan was meant to have aswell?
Not letting any of their boys get embarrassed - swarming on defense means doubling Ming - and we all know we don't have the consistant shooters to make them pay for it.

And ultimately, with Chandler and Paul 'bringing it' even more than they normally would because of the running Alston fued - doesn't bode well for Houston.

but we would have tmac if they did swarm yao. tmac killed the hornets all the time.

you're seeing the manu right now that this board is comparing to tmac? lol

Chandler can't defend Yao one on one, while he does a very good job on Duncan. That is the big difference.

Plus Battier owned Peja this season.

Definitely, We whooped them and all our losses were close including the last one (not counting the fourth quarter) when we were pretty much spent.

The power has definitly shifted in the Western Conference. Mavs, Suns, Spurs not so dominant now.

Chandler does not match up very well against Yao. Yao's height advantage gets him good looks most of the time.

Chandler does seem to do very well defensively against Duncan though. Hornets don't really need to double Duncan.

Exactly. T-Mac while seeing consistent doubles and triples averages a near triple double. Ginobili is even the main focus of the Hornets D and he can barely crack average.
