Hmmm, whether some people want to admit it or not. Some people here are completely ignorant about racial issues. Ignorance is the root cause of racism after all.

I absolutely hate the fact that the root cause of so many Lin debates stems from Lin's race disguised as Lin's debates about Lin's abilities and that the two, for some very ill-rational reasons, cannot be separated.

I also hate the fact that there's a double standard here. Lin fans are sometimes labeled as Lin Only Fans and not true Rocket Fans, but there also seems to be Rockets Fans that are not Lin Fans. The former gets you tarred and feather, but the latter gets you a pass more often that not.

I'm just so glad that Asik is my favorite player and he doesn't have all this nonsense.

Yeah. I can promise Lin is more popular in America than in China. Lin is not Yao.

Kobe or T-mac's fan base in China/Taiwan is 100x bigger than Jeremy Lin's.

I'm a big fan of Lin, but no way do I want to see him voted into the all-star game. Everyone else voted in will be a top 5 player at their position and Lin this year is probably not even a top 10 PG so far although he has been playing much better.

Also, everything that happens with Lin gets magnified exponentially. If he gets voted in, it'll be ugly to say the least. I would honestly feel bad for him because he'll be at the center of a ton of unfair and unwarranted hate from fans and the media.

A lot of the "real" Rocket fans were angry. Yao was actually deserving too!

He'll also get a big fine and maybe a suspension.

Were you fans of "integrity" this concerned when Laetner and Collision made the Dream Team?

Sometimes, it's easy to say somebody is a moron to vote Jeremy Lin.

Sometimes, it's easy to say it's embarrassed to see your team's player to play in ASG when you think he doesn't deserve that.

Sometimes, it's easy to curse an entire nation, about 13 billion+ people around the globe.

Whether you agreed to the voting system itself or not, it's naive trying to create something like "who can vote","who should be granted to vote". The last thing we need is racism or discrimination in the very same forum that sharing the same love for the same team.

We don't want any 2012er's being automatically labeled as LOFs/trolls.
We don't want any forum legends either being a comprehensive wise man or a defensive fanatic just want to insult every single chance of morons posting something stupid and probably put them in "Chinese/Taiwanese" or "LOF" categories.

Lets follow our players, Jlin doesn't even care whether he will be in the ASG or not, of course he would be happy if can participate like last time. But certainly he isn't asking for any votes to take over somebody who's in his prime. But why allow you and me and vote anyway? Just handed the selection jobs by the coach if it's all about 20/10 or 14th straight win or MVP candidate. I think the coaches would treat 90% of the votes like someone who's just fans. So, you better prepare something to fight when you initiate something like, hey man, I'm older than you here or I am an native American, you better armed yourself for another "internet fight", LMAO.

I did not get, the vote is for the most lovable players in YOUR mind. If he is YOURS why not...

Every body should follow his/her own heart, who love who is not other people's business

It's perfectly obvious that you've never opened a history book.

"The U.S.A. was built on the back of Chinese labors, and no, Chinese labors were not treated much better than African slaves."

Is this incredibly broad and wildly inaccurate statement based on the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad? Was it really necessary to wildly exaggerate the very real contribution of Chinese immigrants to the history of the United States, and denigrate the horrific institution of slavery this country had to fight a very bloody civil war to end, in order to make whatever point you're attempting to make? All you are doing is making yourself look foolish. Get a grip, dude. There is plenty to talk about here without making things up.

Some of us remember watching the 1985 All Star game. An All Star game that saw all 10 starters inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame. The current system makes a mockery of both the game and the league.

I don't know the reason behind it but doesn't Team U.S.A try to select a great college player? i.e Anthony Davis. Have no idea how that has anything to do with integrity.

    This.

BTW, NBA is one of the most popular leagues among all sport(European soccer included) in China. No doubt Lin would be first by 10's of millions of votes if China was truly helping Lin.
