Yea I just started learning about Oakcliff when one of my friends up here at Tech, that grew up there, started telling me stories. He said one THANKSGIVING, he and his friends were outside throwing the football around when he saw this car pull up down the street and a bunch of guys got out and started blasting up this house right infront of them. I couldnt imagine having to grow up in that kind of environment

More than 10 years ago, I lived in the Cambridge Oaks apartment complex at the corner of Cullen Blvd. and Scott Street. Does that still exist? I think people got robbed at gunpoint right in front of the apartment complex twice while I lived there, one girl got raped at that corner of the campus, and one female professor got shot and killed at the McDonalds near the UH campus.

Some Galveston officials are disputing the data. And the guy that created the article isn't giving much detail as to where his data comes from.

I can understand where they would be offended, but when I saw the neighborhood was the Strand area, I kind of feel the people of Galveston may be right. I have been in that area many times and never felt threatened or in danger. I have in way worse neighborhoods in Beaumont, than the Strand district.

Yes, it exists. I lived there 8 years ago.

UH is the safest campus, in terms of crime per capita, of any major university in Texas.

Now, if you go parading around the 3rd ward at night in your underwear, then well, that's a different story.
