I'll count Zero Dark Thirty for this year, since I'm a mortal who doesn't live in NY or LA where the film already debuted. Even my wife mentioned it to me: Why haven't we seen it yet? January 11th, honey; January 11th. Gotta wait.

The Great Gatsby might not suck.

    Iron Man III.

    Thor II.

    Lone Ranger.

Not a lot that makes my nuts bubble. 2012 has been a great movie year. It shamed 2011 and will make things tough for 2013.

    Tons of movies ...

    The best:
Iron Man 3 (hated 2, but this looks awesome)
    Star Trek Into Darkness
Fast Six (more Rock and Vin Diesel action scenes..hell yeah)
Man of Steel (trailers have me wowed)
    Kick Ass 2
    Pacific Rim
    Elysium
    Thor: The Dark World
Hunger Games: Catching Fire (looking forward to the Quarter Quell; if done right it'll be bad ass)
Anchorman 2 (first is one of my favorite comedies now)

    The rest:
The Last Stand (probably won't be good but it's Arnold's return)
Good to Day to Die Hard (hated the last one, but the trailers for this seem somewhat promising)
Jack the Giant Killer (loved the trailer way back when and it's Bryan Singer)
G.I. Retaliation (again the trailer looked real promising, but a year delay with reshoots has me very skeptical; can't be worse than one right?)
After Earth (M. Knight...will either be really great or really, really bad)
World War Z (hope is dwindling, but I loved the book so we'll see)
Despicable Me 2 (the first one was a pleasant surprise)
Red 2 (if the sequel is anything like the first, I'm down)
Riddick (Pitch Black was awesome, Chronicles not so much..I'll give this a chance)
Coudy w/ Meatballs 2 (the first film is probably among my favorite animated movies now)
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug (first was just ok, but I'll give it a chance)
Oblivion (looks promising, but I can't help but feel Cruise is miscast)

I think the first group will deliver...but I see a lot potential for movies in the second group to bomb.

Big pile of Do Not Want in that list:

GI Joe sequel that was delayed because test audiences hated it?

Great Gatsby? The book that everyone loathed in English class?

The second part to a Hobbit film that's getting nothing but bad word of mouth?

Anyone is "anticipating" yet another Fast/Furious or Hangover? Isn't that like "anticipating" another Saw, Scary Movie, or Paranormal Activity?

Warner's second attempt at not screwing up Superman?

And then there's all the films that I don't even look twice at.

    Looking forward to:

    Iron Man 3

    Star Trek 2

    Anchorman 2

    World's End

Will depend on post-release buzz to determine if I see anything else. Oz might be sweet if it lives up to the trailers.

Hated with a passion the first GI Joe, but the trailers for the sequel pleasantly surprised me. That said, yeah it did so bad in screenings they had to reshoot more Channing Tatum scenes (seriously?!) and they delayed to pointlessly convert it to 3D. Still you never know, but I'll let the ratings decide whether I watch or not.

I did not care for the Hobbit, despite what anyone else may think...but I'm willing to give the sequels a chance.

And Fast Five got a 78 on rottentomatoes and 67 on metacritic, easily by far the best of the series and breathed new life into it.

I'm in the minority that liked Superman Returns (despite it's flaws), but the new one...you got Snyder w/ Nolan and a real good cast.

I'm not sure if it will come out in 2013 or early 2014 but...

Lone Survivor is at the top of movies I want to see.

Please God....don't let them screw this movie up.

Well, who likes a book when they're forced to read it in high school, anyway? Sheesh.

I will admit, it has the potential to suck. Same director as Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet (diCaprio, Danes). He tends for the overstylized modern edge to older stories.

Are there people that really hate To Kill a Mockingbird? I know I read it before I had to read it in school so that helped. But in my class I think the worst criticism was "I don't like it, but its better than most of the other stuff we read."

Titles that will be a must-see for me, personally:
    Anchorman 2
    Man of Steel
    Star Trek Into Darkness
    World's End
    This Is the End (rogen/franco/mcbride)
    Kick Ass 2
    Iron Man 3
    Thor 2
    Pacific Rim
    Evil Dead
    Elysium
    Hunger Games 2
    Warm Bodies
    The Place Beyond the Pines

Titles I'm looking forward to, but could bomb:
    After Earth
    World War Z
    the Wolverine
    Oldboy (US remake)

    Also:
    - the creator of Oldboy is making his english-language debut with a film called "Stoker"
    - Joss Whedon has a flick, Much Ado About Nothing, that looks promising for Whedon fans
    - If you were a fan of Linklater's Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, the same trio sneakily filmed and will be releasing Before Midnight which will be exciting.

Wow. That was one of the most unfunny comedies i've ever seen, and i'm not saying that for dramatic effect. What a shame because I really like each of the comedians in that flick.
