I think the Nuggets fan was joking. Someone may have already said that, if so, sorry. If I have made anything slower than it already is, sorry about that too. (I have two tests tomorrow). I'll stop posting now and wait.
peace.

I'm guessing the exception also went to Milwaukee. It expires, but it frees up cap space for them to acquire Mason. Willis is a solid pick up, he can still go and he is a nice stop gap for the next year or two. Welcome back big Kev! :)

Man, this is weird. Earlier today I had a 'feeling' that Kevin Willis was a Rocket again. I mean, it just came out of nowhere. I don't know who we'd give up for him. Maybe a second rounder.

At a minimum the acquisition of Willis or any other half decent front court player should cause Kelly Cato to IMPLODE, what a great trade :D

If true, I am pleased. It's not the Kevin I'd have preferred, but I'm still pleased. This would definitely help our frontcourt situation.

Man this thing is slow!!

I think this was a good pick up. He'll give us a little defense and some good rebounding.

Question:

How long is his contract and for how much?

okay, I geuss he wasn't joking. That's cool. I liked Willis, if all we lost was a future second rounder, it's a good deal. He had a good work ethic if I remember correctly, maybe he can help inspire Cato. No disrespect to the way Cato has played this preseason. If this is all the deal is, it's not all That great, but it is certainly better than nothing.
Welcome back Kevin.

Fox 26 in Houston just teased about a Rox deal and showed Willis....I can live with that..I actually liked Willis when he was here.!!

Good Pickup CD

edit.....They are reporting it as a done deal with the terms being like Nuggets4 said...between Denver and Milwakee..Rox only lose a 2nd rounder in next years draft... Excellent!

10 bucks says it's somewhere along the lines of 15 years for $350 million.

... Big sigh of relief!

I think Willis is a great addition for us. I always liked him when he was a Rocket, and he gives us some very needed depth at both the 5 and 4. And if Cato doesn't cut it, he'll be solid for us at center. Big relief, that we were able to use our exeption.

Also, Willis's 3 mil/yr contract has only one year left on it, according to RealGM. That gives us maximum flexibility next offseason to find longterm help at the 5 for the final piece of our rebuilding effort.

GREAT TRADE!

Good Deal for Houston and Milwaukee!!!

However, I fail to see the benefit to Denver.

Nuggets4 and NugzFan - How does this deal help Denver?

Scott Williams will help the Nuggets become more of an up and down team because he is a big time hustler and has a knack for the rebounds. The thing I wonder though is Kevin going to start ahead of Kelvin, or did they sign him to back up Kenny and Cato? It was a smart deal in that Kevin will be able to add some bulk inside against the likes of the big centers, but the question is will he slow down our running team? Apparently, the Bucks wanted this deal done so they could go out and sign Anthony Mason some money now that Darvin Ham is hurt.

well first we get a nice big man to play long side raef. instead of taking shots, hopefully he goes in there plays tough D and boards leaving the O for the rest of our scorers. 2nd, we get the pick. 3rd, i think we save a little cash. 4th (and the best IMO), it gives us a roster spot to hopefully keep ceb!

Nugz,

You actually take back about $125K in extra salary this year. Both Willis & Williams contracts expire at the end of the year & Radojevic's contract has a team option that Denver could've opt'ed out of at the end of the year. The only difference is that Williams is 6 years younger than Willis, but he's only 6'10" while Willis is 7'0". Denver gives up 2 big men for 1 & yet, all I've been hearing is that they need more depth. I know that my math is a little rusty, but it ain't that rusty.

Oh well, you did get a #1 & #2 pick out of the deal. Have you heard what the restrictions are on the #1 pick? If Milwaukee adds Mason (which, I'd be willing to put some money on that they will), then you have to figure that the pick will be a late first rounder. I think you guys got screwed by Issell again. However, we are very grateful for your generosity. :D

One other thing, Williams has only played in one preseason game for 17 minutes against Denver thus far this year. Hmmmm.......

I'm very happy that the Rockets got Big Kev. Never wanted to see him traded away in the first place. I don't think it was a bad deal for the Nugz, though. The center they gave up was a non-factor, and Willis is too old to help by the time they are ready to contend for a playoff spot. Scott Williams is a fine player who can contribute immediately on the defensive end, and on the boards. He can play a little center, too (was part of the rotation with Perdue and Cartwright in Chicago's first title run).

The Bucks to me are the ones making a questionable move. They traded a pretty good player and a 1st round pick away for a bad player and a 2nd rounder. All so they avoid a luxury tax that stands a good chance of not even being implemented this season (since they could have signed Mason without making a trade).
