Yeah, I don't understand why he didn't just slash the guy's tires. But, despite his robbing the store being pretty unbelievable, it was a really cool twist. Just adds to the Jack Bauer legend. Bauer redefines the "maverick who plays by his own rules" type.
Las Vegas is the show they're trying to take viewers away from. Two action packed shows going head to head. Everybody Loves Raymond is irrelevant at this point. These first 4 episodes have been great. The show started in mid season form which has been a welcome surprise. So far i think the cast changes have been a positive. Jack is still the biggest bad ass around. I hate having to wait a week for the next episode.
I've liked the show so far, but it is stretching believability to me as well...Still like and will watch it, but it does hang on the edge at times... Having said that, thank god that got some eye candy in Mary Ann...Damn, she is so fine....Also, little Debbie being killed was expected, but still sad...They may have to kill her mom too as she's coming over looking for Debbie...
what about the other girl that works at CTU? i think her name is Sarah (the one that was spying on Chloe to see if she had any contact with Jack)...
I was thinking the EXACT same thing! And why is CTU a pit of vipers? EVERYONE is suspecious of everyone. Everyone asking what the other person is doing. How about mind your own business while we are trying to save the country.
Uhhhhh do you really want me to list all the non-"colored" (as you put it) manipulative women during this show's run? I think that besides Jack's wife, EVERY woman on the show - even Kim - has come off as ultra manipulative/overly suspicious, etc. I somehow doubt that the writers sit there and go "Well, we need another Omarosa style sneaky black woman character." As for the suspicion, yeah I see your point. Then again, based on CTU's track record the last few years and all the security lapses & moles, you can see how they'd be a little wary of each other.
What irks me is that Jack should be a national hero for all the times he has saved the country from devestation. Every American citizen should treat him like the saintliest man alive. He should be a national treasure; an icon, if you will. But he gets treated by crap from the new people at CTU (who should kiss his feet as America's hero) and the people in the store he robbed don't recognize him. I call B.S.!!!!
I am irked at that as well. American citizens probably dont know the things Jack has done, but the inner circle of the government does. He has saved the US 3 times already and yet NEVER gets the "benefit of the doubt" in how he does things. I know "24" stretches reality a ton, but c'mon. It is ridiculous how Jack doesnt get any leeway after what he has done in the past in terms of solving the problems. It is like every season CTU or the government just forget what he has done in the past and treat him like a 2 week old rookie agent.
Killing a federal witness Jailbreak Dropping agents with fists / sedatives Drug addiction Robbing a quickie mart Holding civilians hostage on more than one occassion Constantly defying his orders The man isn't a saint, and now Palmer isn't there to vouch for him. Still, he should've earned a couple get out of jail free cards by now.
Saint or not....the guy gets results. That should score enough points to at least give him the benefit of the doubt. I am not saying he shouuld be given cart blanche here, just the benefit of the doubt.
I don't know if anyone knows this, but is this whole season just going to be about how the terrorists are going to execute the Rumsfeld-type guy on the internet? Nothing else?
Actually that situation will come to a head pretty quickly. I think we are at 11am right now and he is supposed to be on trial at noon. So that will happen quickly. The secretary of defense trial thing is something that is just the first phase. I am sure it goes much deeper than that.
Had he not done most of this stuff: -Palmer would be dead. -A nuclear explosion would have gone of in the middle of L.A., causing worldwide chaos and WWIII. -A virus would have spread throughout the nation killing millions of people. Jack deserves carte blanche to do whatever the hell he wants for the rest of his life. he's proven to get results time and time again. Why doubt his methods when they've never failed in the end?
Yes, she is hot, but I didn't know that was her on six feet under...sweet... Anyway, Her and Mary Ann are about the only hot women on the show...
Out of sight, out of mind? Each season takes place at least a year after the last one, so I imagine there's time for the old "What have you done for me lately?" attitude to set in. But yes, Jack should be able to do anything he wants, and the government should recognize his mad skills and give him a special ops team/spy agency to command.
I broke down and bought season 1 and 2 on dvd today. Best Buy had a special deal going. There were 5 or so dvd's that were 50% off. Season 1 only cost me 25 bucks.
