A little slow, but overall liked the season finale...Renee making the right choice was great...F'n jack, c'mon we all know he's not going to die...give me a break...did he head butt anyone..oh wait...
when michelle was killed, wasn't tony hurt too meaning he was a target? if alan wilson was in fact behind all those killings, why in the world would he let tony anywhere close to him? i spent the whole episode hoping aaron was going to put a bullet between olivia's eyes. oh well.
Pretty good finale (I guess) but like others have said, the whole Olivia plot was just totally useless. I kept telling my wife “watch….Tony is going to turn again…he’s just deep under cover.” It sort of happened, but not the way I thought. It would’ve been cool if he would’ve just been working deep under cover the whole time and ended up teaming up with Jack at the very end, but alas, it wasn’t to be. The season was ok, but Jack didn’t kick nearly as much ass as he usually does because of the whole sick angle. Could’ve done without that. And I couldn’t get past Olivia going from estranged daughter to COS in a matter of hours. That was just silly and totally pointless. Not to mention completely unrealistic, even for 24. And I won’t even mention Garafalo’s character. Why was she even there when Chloe was still in the picture? But I did enjoy the season. So, what happened with Walker at the end? Did she leave the room or go after Wilson? I couldn’t really tell. (Might have been the 5 margaritas I had at dinner…)
How was that a "final" episode? Technically it was the final, but usually the final cliffhanger begins the next season, but this season's final cliffhanger was Rene interrogating Wilson. Wouldn't that be a continuation of this season?
I guess season 8 of "24" starts on the next day or just days later? They better not pull a "Lost" and jump a year or two in the future and then fill in the gaps with a bunch of flashbacks. I've had enough flashbacks to last me a lifetime. I liked how Tony was playing both sides. I also like how he was going to turn Jack into a suicide bomber. It's only fitting given all the dumbass suicide bombers in the world who think blowing people up is going to actually solve anything. Although, I did find it hard to believe that Tony hated Jack that much to blow him and the enemy up when the actual person who killed Tony's flame was a bad guy pulling strings. Jack should have just shot Tony dead. Unfortunately, it looks like Tony may be back. Jack and Tony should be tight friends...but Tony is off his rocker. Now, Tony is going to blame Jack for not letting him finish off that bad guy. But, Tony should blame himself for wasting all that time rattling off at the bad guy when all he had to do was pull the trigger. Idiot. This season wasn't really believable at all. It's interesting that Keifer said next season will be the most believable yet. I'll believe it when I see it.
lol at people expecting believability in 24. i'm guessing the next season will start way more than just two or three days away from this one. remember season 2 when palmer shook hands with the chick and he collapsed? season 3 started a couple years later, i believe. they'll somehow work the resolution of day 7 that we haven't seen into day 8's story.
Speaking of believability, could you believe the product placement of having the former and future Chief of Staff drive a Hyundai Genesis? At least the bad guys drove American with 2 Hummers and a Lincoln.
Great season finale... I think they did a great job with the story in this season. I think that they kinda ran out of time with the two episodes because they weren't complelely able to finish the Wilson part. I don't know if that was intentionally left to intrigue viewers about the next season, I know the Jack situation was certainly intentional.. but yeah it was so great to watch the finale. One thing we do know for certain.. Jack Bauer won't die yet.
I was secretly kinda hoping Jack would die and Renee would take over as the new badass (kinda like what happened, except obviously Jack is gonna live)
I think this season was the most consistent, but there wasn't any big climax for the finale. Not great or horrible among the 24s...just average. Did not like Tony being reduced to a pathetic shell. I hated the President arc. A total waste of time looking at that Gollum chick squirm and scheme around.
Jack could still die. He's in a coma. He probably won't die, but they could have Rene take the lead. If the ratings plummet, they could bring Jack back. I think the show is better with two good guys. Now that Tony has gone mad, Jack and Rene are the new duo.
So I just watched the whole season last night. I had all the episodes downloaded in 720p and went straight through them starting at 5 pm yesterday and ending around 10 am today. I thought the first 2/3 of the season were great. It probably started sucking somewhere around episode 18 and just sloped down, but that's the usual case in 24 when the big stuff happens first and the latter end of the season is spent on a goose chase for who-dun-it. The finale, while being slow, I thought was really good. This season spent more time looking at character development and how stopping terrorist plots takes its toll on people. Particularly looking at Agent Walker, who despite desperately wanting to go by the book, realizes that the right thing is not always following protocol. I think that's why she entered Wilson's interrogation room. There was also a big underlying theme of making tough choices for the better good. Olivia's plot lasted way too long and her forehead took up too much of the screen, but the way they finished it at the end was very symbolic. It was a decision of upholding the Constitution versus personal matters, an issue that President Taylor was constantly battling. Much more thematic and character development in this season. It ended slowly, but it still blew Season 6 out of the water. And even though we go through all the motions of Jack being a badass, torturing terrorists, yelling "NOOO!!! and "DAMMIT!!", a mole in "CTU", the investigation unit being constantly undermined by a higher authority, boring presidential and White House plots, Chloe showing devotion to Jack and being sent to the holding room for breaking protocol, killing off one of the main good guys, going on goose chases to find the baddy, I have to say I love it all.
Does anyone see a Bauer/Walker relationship next season? It seems like they implied it at the end when they had that intimate conversation. It looked like they were about to go at it except Jack was sick. But, I think Renee has a serious crush on Jack...and Jack on her. It just hasn't come out yet.
First 3 seasons.. I watched all 24 episodes of each season non-stop. Had a full night of sleep between each season... Yep Hardcore.. the show was so addictive in the David Palmer days.
It has to start long enough for Jack to be able to get around. You cant have a whole season with Kim and Jack in two beds, side by side, talking on headsets and using laptops.
