Dammit, do you have to bring up that episode of "Futurama"? One of my favorite TV shows of all-time, and that's still the only episode I've only seen once.
I can't believe there's still another half to the season. They didn't do BlackJack's death justice. It was as sloppy as Tony's death.
i had to. not only are they two of the saddest endings to shows i've seen, but they're comparable in the sense that neither one had to happen. it was like the writers had a 50/50 choice and went for the punch to the gut in both cases. fry was about to get his dog back and then said "no, he lived a good life after me" and then the writers said "nope, last 12 years were horribly sad, good night everybody." on 24, the whole thing is completely wrapped up, jack has saved the world, his family is safe, nina is just trying to escape and isn't even going after jack, and then they make his wife overhear nina speaking german. nina even considered just leaving and they even filmed an alternate ending where she lived. but the writers said "nope, she's dead, our hero's going to hold his wife's lifeless body crying as the scene closes, see you next season everybody!"
I think the Futurama episode where Fry and Bender dig up Phillip J. Fry thinking his older brother Chauncey stole his name, dream, and clover only to learn the body was his nephew who was named after him was pretty sad too.
Bumped for today's episode. Looks like we're going in a different direction. Hopefully Tony is more involved in this one.
Another epic episode. I did not see the mayor getting killed. That came out of nowhere, and I was thinking he and Jack would actually team up. Jack was limping from a wound throughout the episode. Where did the wound come from and when? I'm guessing it was in the White House. I like the Jack vs the world scenario again. Now he could be "shot on sight". Next episode looks like the Jack and Tony show. And Olivia is a b****.
ya i did not see the senator's death coming..now jack has to answer for killing ryan and senator..this aint looking too good for jack. what was tony trying to say..he was like jack wait..seems like tony is up to something..maybe he was already at the port??!
Anyone who has an important tie and has the ability to prematurely end the crisis will always die, including the senator.
To be clear, it was a senator named Mayer. And if you're going to look for Jack inside of a mobile office building, you better make sure Jack isn't outside waiting with a bulldozer to flip the damn thing over!
well i was thinking he was gonna turn on jack and be like ARREST THIS MAN..he has been holding me hostage.
that's what i figured. then at some point later in the season jack would have kicked his ass for doing it. but the shooting was cool, too. 2 questions: why did the gunman chase after jack? i guess jack had some flimsy evidence at that point but wouldn't killing the senator and then running have had jack in really deep **** at that point? not only that, but now you're putting yourself in direct to-the-death competition with jack bauer. dude did not think that one through. second, once jack killed the guy, why phone tony and not the fbi? you've got a dead guy with a machine gun who you have already sent a photo of earlier and the location of the attack/shipment. at that point, you would seem to be pretty in the clear as far as proving your previous theories. plus, knowing the fbi thinks you now also killed the senator, you know they'll be coming after you hard and this prevents that (not that anyone could actually get jack, but just for argument's sake).
ya thats what i thought too..i was like u have the real killer..pretty sure u can associate him at the hospital and maybe match the bullets in the senator to his gun.
Thinking it is being played in real time, Jack is pretty much not going to contact the fbi because he has convinced himself that time is very short and he can't risk either being taken into custody or procedures blowing this one shot. Jack has totally gone 'Jack Bauer' on himself, I like the way it is playing because at this point Jack is as desparate as far as trusting anyone as he has ever been. He doesn't have chloe or ctu or anything... Bill is dead, agent walker in custody... hope they keep this up where he doesn't know what to do but go ballistic...
Looks like Jack's only true allies right now (that can actually help him) are Tony and Chloe's husband. I have a feeling Morris might turn into a key character in the next few episodes.
