A little out there, but still a great show...great lines, and Jack kicking ass is always good to see...
Finally had time to watch the last two hours. The first several hours were pretty well done (besides half of Washing DC in debaco's pocket). The previous seasons always had that once incident every hour that could have ended the whole thing right there if it wasn't for someones stupid action. Up until the last two hours, Jack and team took care of everything. Now you have an entire squad of soldiers running through the white house. Never mind if only Walker didn't get her phone wet, or lose her gun, or stop the boat, or stand in the wide open to get that guy killed, or picked up his walkie talkie. Video surveillance in every wing? nope! Just in front of the safe room. Multiple sensors that would detect gun fire or drilling equipment? nope! Heavily shielded padding that doesn't allow heat signatures? Of course, but only if it doesn't work in the good guys favor. Who would need a hardline out to the world if you're stuck in a vault? Surely not the president. Juma's soldiers made the SS look like mall security. I hate to nit pick, but this last episode was plain stupid. The only character who did anything right was Taylor. She figured if a few African thugs could make it past her mall security with the French guard in retreat, she may as well let the beast out of the vault. Just another reason why it should be call Jack Bauer Power Hour.
I can't believe it. He's gone. He'll go down a hero though at least. Conveniently placed C4 FTW. I mean come on.
Jack, Chloe, Bill, and Tony should be the four untouchables. While I think Moss will be the new Buchanan, I think it's really effed up they killed Bill. I kinda feel not watching the rest of this season now until all the episodes are on hulu.
f'n Bill... RIP... THis show, IMHO, is getting better as the season goes on...I loved this episode and can't wait for more...
Now I'm guessing in the next episode, Jack will have to relay the news of Bill's death to Chloe and Tony.
I am still trying to watch the box sets of the other seasons before I get to season 7, so I didn’t read this thread. I just became a fan of the show a few weeks ago; when I watched the whole 6th season with this girl I started dating. Does anybody know what hour did season 5 start ? I have been taping it on the DVR and I think I have hours 3 to 11 so far.
so where does bill rank on the all-time 24 deaths? teri has to be number 1. even watching season 1 last and knowing she would die (but not how or when), that was still a gut punch. ending the first season of a show with the main character holding his wife's body crying "i'm sorry" as the clock silently ticks to 12:00:00? brutal. that made the ending of futurama's "jurassic bark" look like the ending to hoosiers. the next 4 i can think of are palmer, chapelle, edgar, and now bill. i'd probably say edgar 2nd (that look chloe had on her face), chapelle a close 3rd, bill 4th, and palmer 5th.
i think since season 6 was really the first season i started watching, i hadn't built up any connection when he was killed. i guess michelle died too, but that didn't register very high for me either i guess.
Was that guy really a main character? IIRC he appeared in a couple of episodes and was a jerkoff. I can't remember how he died.
That was sarcasm. He left a safe room to vent the gas out of CTU to keep the people in the main conference room from dying. The gas was eating through the protective seals and for some dumb reason the people in the conference room couldn't access the controls. He was a jerk basically the entire time though, and was the reason CTU was infiltrated.
Can't believe they killed off Bill. I didn't see that coming at all. I thought eventually he would replace that FBI guy, who seems to be losing it. I'm glad they didn't make the whole White House hostage drama last for more than an hour. I mean, i know 24 is fun and not supposed to be completely realistic, but that was just way over the top. Now it's over and we can move on with Jack trying to save the world, while being pursued by the very government he's trying to help. Vintage 24. Bring it. Can't wait to see how Tony emerges through all of this. I hope they don't turn him again. It's fun watching Jack and Tony kick ass together. That's how is should be. They shouldn't mess with that. Killing Bill was crappy enough.
