It was funny how Kumar's teenage neighbor almost got his dad a beating. Kumar might be bit long in the tooth to be playing high school buddies. So we have Islamic terrorist again, but what was up with the asian team member?
Anyone notice that Milo, one of the guys working this season in CTU, was someone CTU brought in for a couple of episodes in Season 1?
You know what, they never did...They went right to action...Unless I missed a little something...The only reason I know Bill and Karen were married is when Chloe mentioned something while rambling about something else...I may have missed it...
No, it started off with news reports of a terrorist attack in San Antonio then an asian??? suicide bomber blowing up a bus in LA. Then they shift to the white house with Karen Hays arguing with the guy who wants to detain everybody. They pan over to new president Palmer. They don't mention Logan. It's been 20 months since the last season and President Palmer has only been in office for 3 months. Presumably Logan's VP had been president in the interim.
It was definitely a good start to the season. It was almost creepy. I kept thinking this could really happen here and how would our local and federal people respond to something like this? I hope the terrorists don't watch "24" and get any bright ideas. I think that, in the future, we could see something like this happen. Spoiler In the previews run after it ended, I could have sworn there was a nuclear detonation that occurred. They didn't show it but they showed some shocked faces and some sounds that seemed to foreshadow it was coming in a future episode.
The worst line in the whole episode was when Chloe was showing Bill the photo of Jack rescuing Assad. She says, "President Paler and your wife, I mean Karen Hayes think Jack's wrong." as if she needs to tell Bill his wife's full name. They did allude to it early in the first episode after they brief Jack when Bill and Karen were talking on the phone they show Karen's wedding ring and then she says they she wishes that he was there with him. Then they say they miss each other. They didn't come right out and say it but they kind of spelled it out pretty early.
My sister mentioned that the big "jaw-dropper" ending to the 4th hour could be a suicide bombing of the White House. I think she said that solely due to watching the preview and basically that was her assessment. That would be surprising but I hope something more shocking will occur, like someone being a traitor or someone unexpected dying.
Logan will be back later in the season. Reportedly around the 9th episode or so. Martha Logan will be back soon as well. And Graham, the Bluetooth-wearing dude that Logan conspired with last season, is back in the 5th episode.
I was expecting The Simpsons and Family Guy, not Kiefer Sutherland. Kiefer is not an "American hero." He is a villain; always has been, always will be...
Yeah they've showed the bluetooth guy in several previews. Didn't know the Logans were coming back though.
jack's done A LOT of bad ass things, but killing a man by chomping on his neck is right near the top. can't wait for tonight's episodes.
I half expected the nuke to go off especially when the casualties were less than what they were going to be last season with the nerve gas. You had to figure that one of these times, they'd let some major damage occur just to up the stakes and show that Jack can't in fact do everything. On the upside, it looks like this inspires Jack to become his old bad ass mofo self again.
Oh...My...Freakin'...God! Spoiler I can't believe they killed Curtis! He was my favorite character in the entire series, Curtis was a hardcore mofo. Still, there is a good reason as to why '24' is the best damn show on network TV. This is by FAR the best -- and most shocking -- season premier ever. Even the casual fan (like my brother whom I got to start watching the show just this season) can't help but get hooked after watching this. What a freakin' show!
Seriously, do we really need spoiler tags after the episode has aired? The whole point of this thread is to discuss the ep. So, is Curtis actually dead? It looked like he was still alive and just in shock that Jack shot him and the emts were working on him.
I thought Fayed died in the explosion??? I just finished watching next week's previews and there he was??
