I haven't seen any of season 6, but didn't want to jump into the middle of the season I liked season 1-5, is season 6 worth buying on DVD when it comes out?
Alright, I did the AMEX "24 Debrief" and it was short and didn't get it...Apparently some District guys come get Jack while he's watching TV... btw, Cuthbert is hot, but Nadia is way way hotter, IMHO...
Elisha all the way. Your pics are just proof of that. Maybe we should make a historical "Women of 24" thread.
Stupid Doyle fell for the old explosive in a box trick. He blew his chances with Nadia, who won't want to be with a blind guy.
i don't know, wouldn't you want to kill yourself? i mean he gets to be a badass, but who lives a crappier life than jack bauer? in the last 3 calendar years or so, he has gone through hell to save the world in season 4. at the end of that day, he gets to fake his death and leave behind everyone he knows and loves to go live a crappy life taking odd jobs down in southern california or mexico or something. after about a year and a half of that, he comes back and goes through hell to save the world again. after just one day back in the real world, he gets picked up by the chinese and tortured for 19 months. and then the only reason the torture stops is b/c they're going to sacrifice him, and when he saves himself, he goes through hell for another 24 hours to save the world, during which time his brother and dad die and he has to leave the woman he loves. we all might wanna kill ourselves too. i will say, that last scene b/t jack and the sec of defense was pretty intense with jack kind of finally snapping about everything he's gone through, but overall, after watching seasons 2-5 on repeats and this season, i would say season 6 was the worst. still entertaining, but i guess a little too outlandish, although every season has crazy plot twists and ridiculous infighting at ctu and they're still good. seasons 4 and 5 were great and season 2, and except for cramming way too many things in, season 3 was pretty good. now the season 1 repeats are starting on a&e so i'll see how that stacks up. a little disappointed we didn't get a cliffhanger to end this season and hopefully they come back stronger in season 7. not even sure where they can go with it. go the die hard 4 route with a computer attack? and it does suck that buchanan won't be running things any more. he's been by far the best leader of ctu. oh well. edit: and since i just saw the same thing on hornfans, i forgot to mention how much i liked the tom lennox character. he was involved in a lot of stuff, usually tried to do the right thing, and acted fairly rationally the whole way through. good character. edit edit: what was the silent clock for? b/c jack thought about killing himself? b/c he had to leave audrey? that's supposed to be for ryan chapelle/edgar type stuff.
I thought it was a good ending. They really tore everything out this season. None of the supporting characters are guaranteed to come back, so maybe next season will have a needed different direction.
Coexecutive producer Manny Coto from a tv guide interview: light spoilers Spoiler Jack starts next season in a very different place than any season so far. Let's put it this way: i wouldnt be suprised if theres no CTU next year. CTU has become almost too comfortable, you know? " We need to carry out this operation- Chloe grab Satellite X and get us feed!" That's gone. We're pulling the rug out from under our characters. It's a pretty radical shift- a totlly different context with a totally different villian. There will not be a ticking clock on a nuclear device. We're hewing much closer to real life: tighter, more personal, more difficult for Jack. There may even be a plot thread that doesn't take place on US soil, in a sense, it's a reboot- in location and personnel. We're going to be introducing a new stable of characters, along with a couple of old ones.Jack's not living under an alias. He's found a place he thinks he belongs and a job he enjoys doing that doesnt involve the government. What's also refreshing is the choice of villian: it's not a Muslim terrorist. In fact, it's not a terrorist at all. And the character is fascinating, someone with a supremely dark past who's done something horrific. And whose ambition is to regain his stature in the world. I just can't say enough how exciting it is. It's going to be pretty damn cool.
A season overdue, but exactly what I was looking for. It was obvious that the standard formula came to it's natural writing climax in season five. I guess they just weren't quite reaady to shake things up yet. Hopefully this new direction will prove fruitful.
Spoiler So its truly becoming the "Jack Bauer Power Hour" show. will he be the American version of James Bond? I can see in 5 years James Bond teaming up with jack bauer.
My buddy who's in the catering business says their company has been approached to put in bids for a "Keifer Sutherland Produced Project" here in Manhattan. Maybe they will ditch LA, which in my opinion is pretty much played out.
Just when you think this amazing show is starting to lose its thunder, they are going to make some drastic changes. Can't wait till Jan....
Very interesting...I think a change of the old CTU is needed...How do you maintain your audience who crave non-stop action...
Probably. Of course, after being treated the way he has for six days (having to fake his own death, being kidnapped by the Chinese, given up by his government as a sacrifice, seeing two members of your family directly behind the assasination of an ex-president/best friend/sbehind a nuclear attack on US soil), one could understand a change in attitude.
