I'm thinking that Chinese nationals kidnapping the daughter of a former Secretary of State would cause a ruckus. Of course, every freaking city is getting bombed if you read the tickers on the televisions, so maybe not. I hope there's not six more hours of this, though.
The storyline of this season is too deep. NY Times is comparing this with an old hit movie, "Deep Throat". Yikes!
I dunno if it's just me but it felt like once the trade/violence went down...that this wasn't Audrey they were left with. It seemed like her at first but it really felt like a lookalike who didn't know what the hell was going on and didn't speak. She acted messed up, which could be due to the torture, but my feeling was that Jack has been duped and this isn't Audrey. She didn't say a word...which was strange. For a minute, I was looking at her face when Jack was staring at her from across the room after it all went down and I was thinking "that isn't Audrey". If that is Audrey, then stick a straight jacket on her and ship her to the psych ward. At this point, I'm not ready to say that is Audrey.
Fine. The plotlines are rehashed. 1. The Secret Cabal in league with the VP wanting to or taking over the Presidency....done in Season 4. 2. Jack assaults a foreign embassy....done in Season 4. 3. CTU member goes rogue to save loved one. Done in season 1 (Jack) and season 3 (Tony). 4. Head of CTU fired due to shenanigans in White House...done before. I just dont feel the tension. Like Bill Simmons, I find myself doing other things while watching this. Also, why kill off Curtis? why pres logan? why the russian? why Jack's brother? - all for short term shock value. None of those deaths really pushed the storyline that far. Maybe Jack's brother's death could have haunted him all season, but no....he found out 2 episodes later that his dad did it. Its not like Jack's heroin addiction that he struggled with all season 3, that was brutal and gutwrenching. Its weak. Heroes deserves to win the ratings war. Yet I will still watch it bc I hope something badass will happen.
^I agree. This season has been feast or famine. There are 5 or 6 episodes that stand out in a sea of filler. If I had waited till the season was over to watch it all at once, a lot would have been skipped.
I like how Jack GAVE HIS WORD that the board would not be given to the enemy. He PROMISED. He GUARANTEED. He even SWORED ON HIS LIFE. What happens? He gave it to the enemy. Well done Jack. Your word means ****. Also, Nadia was tortured and accused of treason a few hours ago and now she's in charge of CTU? C'mon!
This season has been dissapointing. I have been a hardcore fan since season 1, and yet this season is just too ridiculous. As another poster said, so many 'shockers' have already been done before. the ony thing they can do is kill someone off for a short time too keep the audience like... 'omg did that just happen?' Im very dissapointed. Even the russia-arab conncetion was completely used. i have called almost every turn on this season, and other shockers have come to me as no surprise. maybe the real reason is that 24 has killed my sensitivity and shock value? who knows. maybe thats the real plotline of season 6.
Man, I haven't watched 24 in a few weeks (just got too boring, even to make fun of), checked in here to see if maybe the season had gotten better and I should give it another chance, and well....damn. When I was complaining earlier I was one of the few voices of discontent. Now EVERYONE thinks this season sucks? I can't image how badly they must've f*cked up to get this kind of unanimous reaction around here. Guess I'll stick to watching basketball and doing homework on Monday nights.
I don't think it's unanimously hated. I just think the fans don't want to bother with the haters anymore. Seriously, why continue to watch if all you're going to do is post how much you hate the show. AstroRocket, at least you stopped watching and left the thread alone. I'm always hesitant to check this thread after an ep has aired because I know all I'm going to find are people who watch the show religiously yet complain about it. 24 is 24. It's pretty much no different from what it was before. Maybe some of you think that that's the problem. But if this were season 2 or 3, I'd doubt we'd see the same reactions. I'll bet you if Heroes reaches 6 seasons, people will be b****ing about how lame and predictable it is.
It really looks like Mike Doyle is the new Tony. And is Nadia gonna be the new Michelle? We'll see...I can see her hooking up with Mike. pretty decent ep this week. If for no other reason than to see what's-her-face lose her shirt on the bed for a few, haha Nah, decent ep.. I just wish they wouldn't concentrate on Audrey so much. That part of the plot is a little boring. Gotta show again that she impacts the war likelihood by the Russians and should've ended reminding us about the chick's impending lies with her "boyfriend"
I thought this ep was a waste of time, and most Houstonian 24 fans were lucky to have watched the Rockets game instead. There's only 3 or 4 things worth mentioning. If I was a writer, I'd make the romance drama all Nadia and less everyone else. Doesn't matter if it's Screech or Silver Spoons, but I don't really care if Chloe and Mr. Clean are having a spat.
