yeah, if you've been a member at that location before i'd doubt they'd give you a trial offer.

if you haven't ever been to that location before just say that you're not sure you want to join that specific club and you want to try it out first.

rarely ever will they turn down someone interested in using their club.. cause if you walk out the door with no intention of coming back, so does your money go with you.

The meyerland location is the worst one I have ever been to. It is so filthy and is burning hot at night. I have called and written to complain and nothing gets done.

Sometimes after work I go to the one on 1960 and Veterans. Man, what a difference.

Really? I think the facilities are fairly clean. Also sometimes that huge fan in the gym makes it too cold to sweat which I feel sometimes hurts my workouts. When was the last time you went?

I pay $12/month (nothing up front) for access to all 24 Hour Fitness locations, including Super Sport locations.

Does anyone know how the "passport" feature works? Will I be able to use my 24 Hour Fitness membership when I move to Chicago at other gyms? (there are no 24 Fitness gyms up there)...

passport is a program that is a partnership with other, smaller gyms across the nation.

depending on the program, it can get you into certain gyms for free, while others you just get a discounted guest rate (like 5 or 10 dollars per workout)

its not meant for longterm use, just a convienent way to save a few bucks if you're traveling

    i kind of agree.

at least the pool, sauna and hottub are all nasty IMO.

the free weight area is kind of nasty at peak hours too..

that gym gets too much traffic really for its size.

OK, somebody straighten me out here.

I've been a member at the Meyerland location for a while, on the "monthly draft".

Can I renegotiate my deal, or do I have to end my monthly draft, wait a month, and then come back?

Hep me pleeeze....I be cornfuzed

since i got my membership, i've been going to the gym everyday since Friday. i gotta say, I LOVE IT! every day so far, i keep thinking i can't wait to get to the gym. it's early in the morning and i'm already getting impatient b/c i want to be working out. for those who have memberships, does the novelty of it wear off?

i've also noticed the abundant increase of people since the weekend which is understandable. i can't imagine what it will be like during January and February when all the "new year's resolutioners" kick in.

Not totally related... but I felt like I should share.

Last night at our club we had a medical emergency.

One of our members collapsed of an apparent heart attack.

The quick thinking of our CPR/AED trained staff and the help of a few medical professionals on the scene saved this man's life.

Pretty scary experience, but I gotta say I was proud of our guys and the way they handled it.

I finished my CPR certification a few weeks ago, so I was having major flashbacks the entire time..

yea you can renegotiate. Well basically the rep will work a new contract for you and cancel the old one basically, but you can get the same deal if not better if you ask.

actually, i haven't been working out at meyerland at all. i've only been at the Almeda (been in that area alot recently) and Post Oak supersport locations. i should be at Meyerland tomorrow around 4:30. today is leg workout for me too so hopefully when can get on the same schedule.

i've been working on muscles i've never worked out before and i'm cramping up pretty bad early in the workout. i don't know if i need to stretch, drink more water, or just need to get the muscles used to the work. hopefully, it'll work itself oput.

i've run into quite a few people i have met in awhile too. pretty cool.

I got one of those three year things so I would try to go everyday, but now 6 months later there have been weeks when I haven't gone, but that is just due to my laziness I think.

i went to the gym on almeda genoa and 45 last night, they had a sign for a special for the next two days. didn't say how much though. i guess that's how they want you to go in personally.

    yo DonnyMost -

what's the deal with y'all's fan? i was so excited a couple months ago when y'all first put it up, and then had it going all the time. i worked out a couple times after midnight [crazy schedules, don't ask], and the fan was off, but i understood that it just wasn't efficient to have it on for, like, 8 ppl max in the whole gym.
but now - it's BARELY on. lately, from like 3PM-10PM when i've worked out, it's going so slow that it's no better than if it was off. i'm so pissed. i go there loyally, and after working out today at the Almeda-Genoa location off I-45, i'm gonna avoid Meyerland until y'all start running the fan normally. i've asked the ppl checking IDs as well as the sales reps numerous times about it, and they always either say "i don't know" or "it's about to get cold, so we're gonna keep it off/running slow." what the hell - it's hot as ball$ inside.

no point in having such a huge, bad-a$$ fan if you're not gonna use it properly.
the only reason i have to continue going there: juliana. cot damn.
