Jack Bauer is listed at 5'10", 165 on Monday's episode. Yet he was able to put the sleeper on Agent Manning, who probably has 6 inches and 50 lbs on him. I never even doubted the credibility of that happening. However, he then took out two guys with machine guns and a helicopter with his 9mm. Que?
Yes!!! Bring on the keg of lotion and...uh, nevermind... The believability is going down this season, but it still is entertaining...
I have to say when Tony jumped into season 4 it was about as good as 24 has ever gotten. I forgot just how great that episode was until I saw it on A&E the other day, and like you said when you see Jack ready to pistol whip some mofo's all the sudden you hear some shots fired and see Tony's mug to that awesome 24 music... I pretty much stood up and yelled "Take that motherf#*$ers!" when he showed back up, I'm really missing his character this season. 24 is the only show that gets me that emotionally involved, and imagine because of the crap that has gone on the last 5 years in the world, but when I see Tony or Jack kicking some major terrorist ass I just want to stand up and say "Take that motherf#*$ers!" all over again. I hope Tony wakes up soon, I'd rather have him back then another pretty face.
I've seen every 24 episode, and I gotta say there is some unwarranted complaining going on about the show. 24 is amazing. It is one of the best and most original shows I've ever seen. Anyways, I always thought season 2 was the best but this season is definitely giving it a good run. This might be the best season of the show when it's done. Indeed, Tony Almeida is a freakin' BADASS! I might love that guy even more than I love Jack. If he does wake up and assumes a regular role again, it'd be the best thing for the show. It's be a great season so far, and I think it's about to get a lot better.
Exactly. Don't worry about the complaining... I've seen it hundreds of times. When a show gets to be as popular as 24 is now (fifth season, ratings at all-time highs, so much praise from critics), people nitpick it a lot more and flock to the lesser known "underdog" shows. It's kind of like we do in sports. It's by far the best show on television today, imo, and I can't imagine it going down from that status anytime soon.
If the terrorist request Lynn's death like they did with Chappelle in season 3, I'll probably crap myself out of happiness.
For one thing, I think its because its repetitive, meaning, jack gets in trouble, jack gets out of trouble and so on...Don't get me wrong, I love the show and am hooked...
It's like when they're like "Let's arrest Jack!" We've seen it before. They've done that in past seasons. They couldn't come up with something new? Then I'm like "I... can't... stop... watching..." It's a great show, it just always feels rehashed. I guess if they just let Jack do what he wanted to though, the show would be 12 episodes, not 24.
I love the show- have not and will not miss an episode. The plot devices are generally similar- Jack finds bad guy, bad guy dies but leaves a clue to the next bad guy and on and on.
bump for an amazing episode tonight. Can't wait to see Martha's first interaction with her husband. Also can't wait to see a couple of characters back that were shown in the previews... remember, 2 hours next week, early start time of 7 central. Also, anyone catch Jack's alias of Jon Barry? Sure, they spelled it a little different... "John Barrie"... but we knew what they were hinting at.
I guess I'm a full fledged TV geek for noticing the 'Jane Espenson' shout-out (Espenson was a writer on Buffy and Angel, along with current 24 writer/producer David Fury).
4 real...Good episode this week, but how Jack survives the blast is a little silly, but cool none the less...Can't wait for my girl to come back next week...mmm...Elisha...
It was a great episode this week! I was yelling at the TV when Curtis and Aaron stepped up big! As far as Jack surviving the explosion, the way they set it up was believable... well as believable as anything else in the series. You can't disect anything in the world of 24, because none of it would make sense.
He was under the computer floor and out of direct exposure. Of course computer floors aren't very protective, but hey - - He's Jack Bauer.
