One HUGE question: In season 4, how come CTU never figured out that the two agents were killed in the process of picking up the squealing agent? The Chinese killed two of them and just left them on top of the builiding.....
I love this show, seen every episode, and that's another great season in the books. I don't know how you guys are jumping to the "24 in China" conclusion as if Jack is gonna be working for the Chinese government to stop terrorists in China. I immediately thought that they had plans to brainwash him and turn him against the US. That Chinese diplomat despises Jack Bauer -- I don't see him thinking that Bauer's value to them is for good, but only for bad.
Well, I thought it would take place in China, but it would be mostly about how Jack is trying to escape and get back to LA. One things for sure, it's either gonna take place in China or in LA - but not both, unless they're willing to spend half of the show on an airplane.
I think they're gonna shoot in China in the summer. And you can't not like Chloe. She's badass. Without her, Jack would be dead. Well, maybe he would prefer it now that he's in China's custody.
I enjoyed the part where Jack described in detail to the sailor how to kill a man. I think Chris Tucker could make a great agent too. He could replace Edgar.
According to the episode summaries on the official website, the agents were only knocked out. They sure looked dead though. Great finale. It was a nice twist how this time it was about the acting and the character moments and not shootouts or things getting blowed up. Plus they FINALLY brought the Chinese back into the picture and managed to set themselves up perfectly for Season 6.
That reminds me... there were a lot of great lines in the final two episodes of this season, but my favorite was easily, "My status? Uh, he's dead."
i doubt he's going to brainwashed. BAD JACK = not good ratings = cancellation of 24. he ain't going to break under extreme measures or be brainwashed. he loves his country too much to betray them. thats why he wanted to be murdered.
Great post Salsa. Im starting to gain a new appreciation for this episode - I guess I was just so used to shootouts and wham-bang action that I kind of got lost in all the drama and great acting. I think Jean Smart (playing Martha Logan) is an incredible actor.
I'm not sure they'll be in China at all next season. They can explain how he came back in one scene. I'm guessing if word gets out that he's in China, the government will do what they can to get him back since he's the one almost personally responsible for bringing down Logan. I like Buchanan getting some, too. And Chloe rocks. Sure, she's unfortunate looking, but how can you hate that character. I'm just happy they didn't make her ex-husband a bad guy. "Uh, that's the president"
The young petty officer is the first character that worked with Jack that didn't get killed, well at least mortally wounded (Wayne?) Like the bank president as soon as ther kid showed up on the screen I said, "prepare to die son" I have to say though his part was a real adrenlin rush. I identified with his character enough to think about having fate put me in a kill or be killed situation. Man Up! (but it was just TV)
Not the best finale, but it was still damn good and better than 99% of the other stuff on TV. I don't know what you guys are talking about, I think Chloe is hot hot hot. Maybe it's all the tech talk that gets to me.
I'm disappointed in how gullible Jack is. Does Jack not have THE cellphone of all cellphones? Are we supposed to believe that Jack would believe his daughter, Kim, would call some number in some building or be directed to this line in this building by CTU rather than Jack's cell phone? That was just plain silly how gullible Jack was on that one. Jack..."Oh...my daughter on some phone line in some building before the news even broke about the president's arrest and all the crap I just went through." She must have ESP. Or, it was the 24th hour and she knew the show was about to wrap for the season. I think they could have set up the Chinese taking Jack in a more believable way. This also implies that the Chinese knew exactly what was going on with the President or how would they know Jack would be at that location? Or, where did they start tailing Jack...back at the nuke sub? The timing was just impeccable. LOL
There is always that German agent that Jack screwed over mid way through the season who might have tipped the Chinese off to where Jack was.
To me, if you're going to get upset about discrepancies like the time or Jack's action in the final minutes, then you can't really enjoy the show all that much. Every episode has ridiculous time discrepancies. If they didn't, that means that Los Angeles is around 4-5 square miles in area.
I thought they would follow up on the "business interests." I really am wondering what business or industry they represent.
