Not that it matters all that much, but I don't think it's a spoiler once it's already aired, is it? I mean, theoretically it could be for some people, but I'd hope they would know not to view a thread like this after the episode has aired if they don't want to be spoiled. At least I don't... I check the thread during the day, but if I had to tape the episode, I don't go anywhere near the hangout until I've seen it...
Spoiler below: If you think about it, then Edgar was really responsible for his own demise. He didn't follow proper protocol when he was approached about a possible abnormality detected in a ventilation sensor. He brushed it off as "I'm too busy to deal with this". Those sensors are there for a reason. It's always easy to blame the "faulty sensor". Good bye, Edgar.
It's not a comic book geek thing, it's more about being a film buff than anything. Bret Rattner is like the Scott Stapp of movie directors. It's also troublesome how Fox rushed it through production to get it out before Superman Returns like a chick would quickly date the first guy she see's to make her ex boyfriend jealous. Regardless of how good or bad it turns out, if they just took some time and worked on preproduction and writing the script, it would have made it a better movie.
How did the terrorist know that Lynn's sister and her crackhead boyfriend would have an all access key card? Did they win it on eBay? If they hired the crackhead beforehand, how did they know Lynn would be working at CTU that day? It was his first day there being the head tool.
Man, that was really sad. What a great friggin episode. I am so glad I watched it live. No way I could have made it though work without someone spoiling that one for me. For those of us who love payback...we all know Tony is going to kill Anderson while they are both trapped in medical. Time to avenge Michelle....slowly.
My guess is that since Lynn worked at "Division" in Los Angeles, he had access to CTU, even before today. As I understand it, Division ranks ahead of CTU in the chain, and they're in the same city, so I'm guessing their access cards would work regardless of if Lynn was appointed that day... but again, that's just my guess.
So many "24" rules, so little time: "24" cardinal rule #56: If a CTU-ie dies, said person's significant other/family member MUST exact their vengeance on Mr. Villain before he can give up crucial information to Jack/CTU. "24" cardinal rule #12: If you're too busy to check on an anomaly, there WILL be repercussions. "24" cardinal rule #4: If you're stupid enough to actually wear a red shirt in CTU, it's not a question of whether you'll die... but how. "24" cardinal rule #71: CTU directors brought in from Division are required to leave their common sense at the door. "24" cardinal rule: #23: Kim must somehow find a way to lose several articles of clothing. (Hopefully, this rule will be enforced soon.)
GREAT EPISODES last night! I'll have to be honest, I kinda choked up a bit seeing Edgar at the end... damn the devil! He's gonna be missed.
Tense.... Every minute is tense...... Thats why I love this show. As stated before, awesome episode! RIP Edgar
I've always found it humerous that the fate of the world is so often left in the hands of this lowly CTU-Los Angeles unit. Does Division actually DO anything besides send a new incompetent director to CTU each season? How about the rest of the US intelligence agencies? Why is CTU the only one ever coming up with leads?
