i'm telling you... momentum and confidence can do wonders. some could argue that the win last night didn't mean too much since it was against the lowly wolves but what impressed me the most, and what really got me thinking that my ludicrous prediction could have some legs, is when we got down by 5 late in the 3rd and the crowd was going bananas, but we stood tough and went on a huge run. and then in the 4th we did our job, we kept a double digit lead and mchale's 4 guard lineup proved to be a great coaching strategy. we're going to be in positions like this a lot, and confidence is what can keep the streak strong and not let raucous crowds get to our players' heads. also, another thing i was going to mention in the OP but didn't was that over the off-season i bought myself a rockets wristband (something i could proudly wear around LA to stand out from the disgusting mix of purple and gold that i see everywhere). i wore it all summer and when the season finally started i was excited to wear it when i watched the games, as a good luck charm so to speak. well, i did just that, and we started the season pretty poorly. I went to the clippers game in person and wore it (as well as my hat and shirt) and we got embarrassed. I decided to wear it just for good measure while watching the game against the spurs, and sure enough we lost in overtime. so I thought "you know, maybe it's not good luck.. maybe it's bad luck" Sure enough, I stopped wearing it after the SA loss and we haven't had a single loss since  Just a little tidbit for your superstitious people. And don't worry, i don't plan on putting that thing back on anytime soon
