I like A’Mauri, but passing on Loane would be tough. DT makes sense, but a guard who consistently IDs stunts, passes off blocks cleanly, anchors without getting walked back, and keeps the pocket clean inside would really elevate that unit. I want the Oline to become a strength.
We have 23 free agents so I’ll respectfully disagree. Staff has done well finding guys outside of the first round (besides offensive linemen) so I’ll trust them with that.
Well said. While young, athletic DT are sexy and could be a solid addition. I believe LG is our biggest hole and if we can get a stud, let's do it!
That’s fine for that one play in one game. But teams repeatedly pick on him when he is subbed in, how many more bad reps before it’s more than just the “play call”
I hope they add one IOL in the draft and another one in FA. Starting 2 rookie OL is asking for trouble IMHO. They will find a bellcow probably through trade or in FA.

Pass on all Alabama Olinemen. None of them can run block and got owned by ‘some three star white boys.’
Give me Sadiq, although Proctor moves like a young Trent Brown. Put Proctor next to Ersery on the left side of the OL and that would help solve the Texans short yardage/GL issues. Proctor is a people mover. With this said Sadiq is a special player/weapon.
For me plan A is Ioane in Round 1 and Washington in round 2. Plan B is McDonald in 1 and Oregon in 2. I think there's a chance they could score Ioane and McDonald come draft day.
He's not totally wrong: Bama ranked 123rd in YPG in FBS and averaged 3.35 YPC, it was a much talked-about problem their entire season. I'm fully wait-and-see on Proctor, lots of time and workouts and interviews b/t now and the draft. There are so many ?marks around him in NFL and draftnik circles...he could be a perennial All-Pro or he could be a total bust. I'd like a little more certainty if the Texans are drafting an OL in the first.
I see Proctor as a young Trent Brown (Brown played OG early in his career with the 49ers) and he could be a really good LG. Put Ersery/Proctor on the left side of the OL for the next 5 yrs and people will get moved in the run game. People movers that solve the short yardage GL issues. Draft Cody Hardy TE North Carolina St in the late 4th/early 5th and you've solve a lot of the issues in the Texans run game. IMHO
Proctor is an A+ athlete, but my worry that he's not committed to being an outstanding football player. Interviews and our team's evaluation will be key. If he passes all of the tests he'll probably go before our pick. At our position I'd rather grab a guy like Dunker, Lomu or Vega. A dude that's ready to go versus developing them. Vega would be ideal at LG and Dunker would be my 2nd choice with position flexibility to boot. I hope we take at least 2 IOL types in 1st 4 rounds (6 picks).
