Absolute perfection. Created a stacked lineup without giving up any of their top 10 prospects. Jim Crane is one of the best professional sports owners in history. Rings will hinge on how good the rehabbing pitchers are. Projected playoff roster (assuming Alvarez is back): SS Pena 2B Altuve DH Alvarez 3B Correa 1B Walker LF Sanchez C Diaz RF Smith CF Melton Bench: Dubon, Caratini, Urias, Trammell SP: Framber, Brown, Javier, Arrighetti RP: Hader, Abreu, King, Sousa, McCullers, Garcia, Walter, Okert, Gordon
I like the deadline but I ultimately consider Correa downgrade from Parades who is done for the year. I hope his leadership will make up for it. Sanchez and Urias trades are very good but I wish we got pitching. I think the Mariners got way scarier but we’ll see. They’ve also been ridiculously lucky with injuries. Things are bound to even out.
Cam in CF and Sanchez in RF would work Cam would adjust quickly defensively, and he was already slumping offensively. He’s fast af just sayin’
Yes, you can never have enough pitching. But, we needed bats and positions filled. Badly. Dana did pretty damn good.
I’m skeptical he will get healthy in time to rehab and be back in rhythm before the playoffs, but if so swap him with Trammell or Melton.
Looks great on paper, but it would have been such a bonus could they had landed a pitcher. Dana and team crushed it though. I think the Mariners are going to be tough to beat, and I believe the Rangers did a great job. The AL West is going to be a brutal battle for the next two months. The other AL contenders did as much as they could to upgrade their team. I’ve seen a lot of online complaining how Correa won’t bring the same offensive production as Paredes. The team doesn’t need Correa to match Paredes, the team just needs Correa to be Correa. He is going to bring a shot in the arm to this team for all the things that we know he will bring. I have to give Dana and Crane a lot of credit. They gave this team a chance to win the AL. I don’t think it’s going to be an easy task, but they did as much as they could which was bring MLB depth to a line up that desperately needed it. I don’t know what to expect when it comes to Yordan or Meyers. I think Meyers is chalk for the season, and Idk if Yordan will have the impact on this line up with a bad hand. If Alvarez can bring it come September, this team is going to be hell to deal with. Diaz and Walker are starting to get better, and the added depth will allow the manager to keep these guys fresh which is all you can ask for. Our pitching is on fumes, but we’ll need to light a candle so that this team doesn’t take any more injuries on the pitching front.
is there any word on any injured pitching free agents that are about to come back or pitchers that might be waived that we could pick up?
After some disappointing deadlines where I felt we gave away too much, I think this was one handled very well by Dana.
Rangers are playing the Mariners. I hate when we have a series like this. Who the hell am I supposed to root for?
