If our guys were just average with a bat we would be pretty good. The upside is Alvarez and Yanier can't be trash all season and Cam and Rodgers seem to have found their bearings. Jury is out on Wlaker. I still think he is pressing.

Walker is hitting the ball hard a lot, so I’m optimistic about him. I think Walker and Rodgers are feeling a lot of pressure and it’s affecting their production. For now I’m confident Walker will settle in. I really wish Rodgers was getting to play everyday.

I don’t see any reason to play dubon over him at 2nd ever

There really isn’t outside of a rest day every 8-10 games. Dubon really should be limited to filling in on the infield for standard rest days. And for now McCormick should be limited to filling in the outfield on standard rest days, as well as a late game defensive replacement for Altuve in LF. There’s no room for Dezenzo on this roster. That 13th spot would be better used for a pure veteran bench player who can either be a lefthanded bench bat or a pinch runner (or both) and be ok only getting into ~30 games over the course of the entire season.

I'm a big Dezenzo fan, but if Espada is going to use Dubon as his main utility guy then Dezenzo needs to be sent down to get AB's so he's ready when injuries strike, Espada has totally mismanaged the situation with Dezenzo/McCormick.

Rodgers needs to play 5 days a week with Altuve playing 2nd one day a week if Espada wants to rest Rodgers. Dubon should be giving Pena a rest and be a late inning replacement guy.

Montero doing Montero things- loaded the bases without recording an out, missing the strike zone. Barely got out of it.

Since McCullers is lined up with Gusto’s day to pitch, and Thursday is an off day, my guess is McCullers will start for Houston on Tuesday April 22nd at home against the Blue Jays.

Both AA and AAA are on the road next week so Lance may just throw a simulated game at Daikin Thursday.

With how the offense has been Chas should get some starts in CF over Meyers

Chas at least has the upside with the bat. Jake has had a couple of good games but he just isn’t a good offensive player and hasn’t been since the injury

Even the mediocre numbers he has put up so far have been boosted by a few really weak hit balls that were hit in the exact luckiest spot

    Yep

Chas has that 842 OPS on there that Jake can’t sniff. But I’m sure you agree with Joe that he had his 10 at bats to break out, didn’t do it so he should sit and eat his banana pudding or whatever

Jake should be ready to break out any minute though I can just feel it lol

Jake is also 6th in MLB in dWAR (~20th in overall WAR). Of all the things one could complain about with this team, I just don't understand complaining about Jake Meyers right now.

There is no reason to play Dubon over anyone.

Yep. Chas had an .842 OPS in 2023, which proves he has a much higher ceiling than Jake offensively. There is no real argument there.

Espada is done with Chas. He was done with him last year.

Buck is a maldy/dusty guy. He will always be anti Chas and anti Diaz.
