Yes. Him and Dezenzo getting hurt was brutal. Things would be so much more informative if Melton and ZD were playing every day instead of Hummel and trammel and Chas. It’s a huge bummer.
FWIW at least he expects them back. Maybe the next time we see them in uniform is spring training but IF they are back by mid-September I would bet on this team entering the playoffs. I think 3B has to be the priority now. With Pena and Meyers hurt, Dubon has to be free to sub into 2B, SS, and CF once in a while. Him being an everyday starter is also far from ideal. I like what I have seen from Trammell which reduces ( not too much) the need for Mullins, especially if Melton can get healthy. But hopefully, none of the 3 have to play vs LHP. Chas is 3 for 14 since the ASB and none of his hits have left the infield. It's just sad watching him. I realize he's necessary right now, but he needs a change of scenery as soon as the team can affird to let him go. Too many better options when they get healthy. I still expect a deal for Mullins, but would prefer a 3B and ASAP.
Houston could legit be running out 5 high-upside rookies in their everyday lineup if only Alvarez, Meyers, and Paredes were hurt: RF Smith 2B Matthews CF Melton LF Dezenzo 3B Whitcomb
Just a week removed from our worst stretch of the season and 17 guys on the IL....and we're a game back from having the best record in MLB. This has been the strangest season I can remember in a long time. In a good way, of course.
Brown and Framber are great. Astros are basically a 0.500 team when they aren't pitching. Not counting 2020, this is probably the worst Astros team since 2016 (even though record hasn't been bad).
He has walked 5 and hit 2 more guys today If he was an Astro and you were watching you would want him banished to the Florida Complex already
I mean- what do you mean by worst Astros team? The one we have on 7/23? Sure. All heathy and its the best team since 2019 imo.
Nice job trolling ! If a team has 2 aces, and the team is .500 in all other games, that team is a World Setues contender. This is baseball. Even the best teams lose 40% of their games. So losing 50% when you use your 3rd-? best starter is par for the course.
I am announcing my retirement as a self appointed GM for the Astros. The last good call I made was the acquisition of Zack Greinke. And that was because the Astros were the only competitive team not on his 15 team no trade list when it was obvious Arizona was headed for a rebuild. This season has shown me that we are in good hands and now I can just enjoy the scores without the work of trying to improve the Astros.
I don't even pretend to know crap. In Crane and Brown I trust. I don't know how we will get a playoff pitcher without going over the tax.
