Can't believe I'm even saying this, but it's getting close to the time when we should stop thinking about just the division and start thinking about catching Detroit.
Crazy to think we are in striking distance of the best record in baseball. I'm just enjoying this ride. I'm also enjoying the Yankee crash that happens almost every season.
Pena is 2nd in bWAR (behind Judge, 5.7 to 4.7) and Hunter is 2nd in pitcher bWAR (behind Skenes, 4.1 to 3.9)
I mean- we are 1 back in the loss column. We don’t have to think about catching them we already have caught them. All we need to do is play 1 game better over the last half of the season.
The farm system is weak because most of the AAA guys are playing on Crawford. I mean three 5ths of the starters would be pitching in SL if not for injuries. Yes, Luhnow is the GOAT of GM's and that's why he got banned. Cant have the Stros beating the Dodgers/Yankees/Red Sox etc... You've also gotta give Dana credit. He lost Bregs /Tucker and traded Tucker for Parades/Cam because of this brilliant trade by Dana the Stros window will be open for awhile longer. Good times.
Graded things associated with the team that aren’t actual players. Will do that one next. Tell me what I got wrong.
Unfortunate the Dbacks decided to turn it around or I would argue Josh Naylor would be a hell of a guy to have down the stretch while he’s on a 1 year deal.
When the broadcast shows a fan holding up the big K sign after a strikeout, it's these guys. They are the only ones allowed to bring in a sign that big. Douglas is on the right. I've know them since 2010 and they have been kind of enough to pass their seats to me occasionally for games they couldn't attend.
Woulda been cool if the Astros never sold out on the stadium name. So far it’s been enron, minute maid, and now Daikin. Should’ve always been something like Astro Park @ blah blah or whatever. Calling it the juice box when it was MM was kinda cool I guess. All these different names don’t help in establishing more tradition though. like when the Astros and oilers had the Astrodome and the Rockets had the Summit. That was cool. I always forget which teams play at which corporate named stadiums.
Oh yeah. and 220 mil over 15 years is kinda like one good player contract. I would’ve thought it would cost more.
