Love Golden, I'm a Horns fan. But he would have been WR 6 or less in last years draft.

I think I want either Walter Nolan or Tyleik Williams in round 1. Counting on one of D. Jackson, Mbow, Zabel or Savaiinaea being there at 58. I'd spend all our picks on the lines and defensive front. I think there will be quality skill position prospects go undrafted. Time to take a page out of Rick Smiths book and start bringing in guys with a place in the NFL who didn't get picked.

After seeing the Eagles D-line I see what Demeco really wants out of his D. Walter Nolan or Kenneth Grant for the first or Deon Walker in the second if he drops that far.

    https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6121443/2025/02/10/nfl-mock-draft-2025-super-bowl/

    25. Houston Texans: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

There’s a real chance Grant has one of those unforgettable testing weeks at the combine and rockets his stock into the top-15 range. If he doesn’t, he could be in line to slip. A phenomenal athlete at 340 pounds, Grant is still more traits than production.

Don’t rule out North Dakota State OL Grey Zabel, the draft’s top center/interior O-lineman, as the Texans’ first-round pick.

    58. Houston Texans: Jonah Savaiinaea, G, Arizona
    89. Houston Texans: Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas

I'm with you there in some ways, but we have the 31st ranked offensive line in the NFL. The Eagles wouldn't even have made it to the Superbowl with Barklay and Hurts behind our offensive line. Last year Cleveland had the best defense and the year before that the 49ers did, and neither went to the Superbowl those years.

We need a balance, and as fun as it would be to strive for a defense like the Eagles, I think our glaring offensive deficiencies are more crucial to address if we want our team to be taken more seriously as a threat.

Yeah seeing the Eagles offensive line average size at 6'6 338 LBS is a real eye opener. I'm hoping WR (Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka) in the first round since Tyler Warren will be gone but would love Cameron Williams to take over for Shaq Mason. Hopefully he's there in the second round.

I think our Dline is still pretty good if we can get everyone back. We were 4th in sacks and I think we can get better.

Also Autry was suspended a few weeks and the Al- Shaiir suspension hurt us too.

Oh yeah completely forgot about that.

If Nick Caley brings the McVay system and CJ gets to call his own protections, I hope that improves the Oline as well. That's a big IF though.

I think we need more than just a better coach though. It seems like those guys fold like marshmallows sometimes against defensive pressure, and others can't hold off defenders from sacking CJ. A coach can only do so much. Plus, some of our guys can't stay healthy to save their life. It's like they are made of glass. That's a lot of our offensive players. We definitely need better depth at a lot of positions, and better blockers at TE too.

Spend the draft capital and FA money adding 2-3 new ol.

I thought it was more of stunts. For some reason, when other teams ran stunts, we just became lost. Early in the year, a few of our guys were saying they were being told to do things that they were not being taught. I wonder if that was what they were referencing.

Honestly, I don't know, but I'd hate to just wait another year to see if coaching will fix what we have. I would feel better with more depth and replacement options. We aren't swimming in loads of cash for free agents.

It makes sense to me. At the least it will give us more depth, but we might get one or two who are difference makers.

Texans don't need to draft an OL in Rnd 1; Gr
THIS IS THE BEST SCENARIO.....based upon what I saw from Philly and I HOPE LIKE HELL, that Caserio was looking at the Super Bowl!!

The only way we are going to beat the upper echelon team is by having a great Defensive line. We need a monster DT.

You can get BIG OGs in the middle of the draft. Philly OL avg 6'6, 350 lbs.

While I don't know much about any potential players, those are the positions I'm hoping for, assuming the players at those positions are in BPA territory.
    RD1. DT
    RD2. WR
    RD3. OL

They need to protect CJ at all costs. I want the best players possible protecting him. Add a couple of top tier OL in the draft and then go defense, You can probably add guys like Alfred Collins, Darrius Alexander, Nazir Stackhouse etc... in rd 3 and they may end up being better players than Grant.

Seth Payne said the Eagles Oline is basically two 2nd rounders, a 7th rounder, Lane Johnson a 2013 1st and a reclamation project. Thier OL coach Jeff Stoutland is just one of the best if not the best OL coach in the business.

Let’s see what different coaching does to our OL. Oh wait an understudy from this season’s disaster OL staff got a promotion to OL Corrdinator bc he’s a friend and alumni of the GM and incoming OC. Rip.

Texans have drafted 4 OL recently in rounds 1 - 2 and we still can not protect CJ; Howard, Green, Scruggs and Fisher. We need to mimic Philly. They built up their defense through the draft and obtained offense talent through Free Agency.

O-linemen take 2-3 yrs to develop, especially drafting in the mid-late 20s and 2nd rnd.

    Rip indeed =(
I caught the part where Payne said the first two picks should be WR/ IOL, also agree.
There will be no Tank in 2025, Diggs will be gone to Dallas and we're broke boyz cap wise to afford a Higgins.
Can't send Stroud out there with Metchie and X as the supporting cast. Posted a video of Will Fuller opening up the entire field for the former qb when the John Carroll &Associates offense was in vogue here in the Doh'Brien years

Back to the O line conversation they had,
    Green 1st round pick
    Scruggs 2nd round pick
    Fisher 2nd round pick.
Ouch. But I'm ready to burn another selection.
