This TE out of Georgia Tech is projected to go in 7th round but is apparently an excellent blocker. Jackson Hawes Tight End Georgia Tech | NFL Draft Profile & Scouting Report https://search.app/9UYtLVUqTYPUeopB9
I would spend a 5th or 6th rd pick on Neal. What I really hope they do is draft Zabel at 1-25 and use their 2-59 and 3-91 20 trade up into the 235 or 2-40 range to pick Bech. Zabel and Bech are the real deal.
Even if the Texans only have a 2 man draft, I hope they do what it takes to draft Zabel and Bech. If that means trading 3-59/ 3-91 and a 2026 2nd to move back into the 2nd rd for Bech they should overpay. Zabel's the IOL they really need. Draft Zabel and sign Will Fries in FA. Then trade back up for Bech. Football means something to him and he's got great hands/can break tackles, plus he's faster than his 40 time is going to tell us at the combine. A perfect compliment to Nico.
It's more than a good draft for receivers that can beat press coverage. Just have to sort out which ones have been team captains, while other GMs will be focused on height and build.
Give me Zabel or Jackson at 1-25 and either trade up for Bech or pick Tez at 2-59. If you really want to fix the OL then pick Zabel at 1-25, trade up into the top of the 2nd for Jackson and sign Will Fries in FA. That will become a dominant OL.
Per PFF WR JACK BECH, TCU Bech was the big winner in Mobile. Not that we didn’t already think highly of him as a top-60 player prior to the practice week, but when you consistently get open and showcase very reliable hands for three straight days, you’re getting bumped up even higher in the rankings. I’m not saying he’s going to be a first-round pick, but I very much doubt he gets out of the second round. After the Senior Bowl, his stock feels comfortable in the early-to-mid second-round range.
