This Giants GM looks completely stressed out and in over his head. Strutting around the room and mumbling to himself. Pathetic.

"I thought Luke Lachey was a 2nd round pick prior to injury."

Wow, if that's close to accurate and he just needs more time to get back his juju, this draft could be an all-timer with the other great picks we made.

I love the behind the scenes drama that goes on during the drama. Hearing about what deals were proposed and didn't happen and what led to the decisions that did get made. It sucks the Texans weren't able to come up with a deal to move up in the draft to draft the offensive lineman's that they coveted. I loved the trade back into the 2nd round when the draft didn't line up for them. In my opinion, the Texans drafted the best Wide receiver and best offensive lineman in the draft. Probably the best slot WR as well. It was an offensive draft for the Texans and they got some good players. The Woody Marks selection was a huge overdraft. Brashard Smith was drafted in the 6th round and Lequint Allen was drafted in the 7th round. Both are very similar graded and style running backs.

“Broken fibula in right ankle, which required season-ending surgery (Sept. 2023) and six months of rehabilitation; missed one game (and parts of others) as senior because of quad injury (Oct. 2024)”

He was really good before injury. I doubt that he regains his speed to its prior level. He can still easily become the best blocking TE on the team because such a low bar has been set.

There are several players who look like longer term plays than this year. The most criticized is Mertz. And this is even more so because he's obviously still rehabbing and not ready to go yet. But he is a value pick for 2026-2028 after Mills is gone and he then gets a year to learn the new system and under the watchful eye of our trainers to slide into the backup role if everything works out. The attribute he has is precession passing when healthy. So what could look like a disappointment in 2025 could be solid looking to the start of the beginning of the expensive CJ and WAJ years.

With more tickets in day 3, we went with higher ceiling guys than in the earlier rounds going for higher floor guys.

If anybody should be disappointed, it should be me thinking we would go for at least 3 and possibly 4 OL.

But I remain a fan of the FO with a plan.

Prior to the 2023 season he was as ranked #3 behind Bowers and Sanders.

Prior to this season he was constantly ranked in the 4-12 range.

By the time the end of this season came around - concerns around his ability to create separation, more of a TE2 than focal TE1 and seen as significantly better blocker than receiver.
