I think that's why the Texans HAVE to go o-line with the first pick tonight. Too much space in between our first pick and second to chance getting a starter as opposed to a project.
I feel we need a better pick than 58 if we want a WR and OL of our choice 34.Tre HarrisWR Ole Miss 47.Aireontae ErseryOT Minnesota 79.Alfred CollinsDT Texas 115.Dylan FairchildOG Georgia 123.Brashard SmithRB SMU 179.Nick NashWR San Jose State 216.Hollin PierceOT Rutgers 2026 PIT 4th
There is no Olinemen rated higher than the best play at 34. You don’t reach because of need. Take the best player.
Blake Fisher was horrific last season. He needs to improve by a staggering margin to be a dependable starter at tackle. If he can't play tackle then maybe he can play guard. Right now he looks like a bust.
Exactly. I guess I prefer Aireontae Ersery so that, hopefully, he can take over as starter at LT next season. Cam Robinson will be a FA after this season.
I believe we will give serious consideration of Henderson, Taylor and Harris at 34. But would consider offers to move down as far as mid 40s.
How do you have us picking at 47? Did I miss a trade? I thought we are at 34 and 58 in Round 2. Anyway, I'm skeptical that Ersery will be available at 58 and Tate Ratledge will be long gone at 115. Ratledge is going in the 2nd round.
I think it's a balancing act. Do we take a CB to sit the bench or do we get Aireontae Ersery or Tate Ratledge who are both likely longterm NFL starters at positions of desperate need?
