I'm in the minority, but I want a skill player in round one. Tyler Warren probably won't be available, but he's the dream. Followed closely by Egbuka.
My guess, Texans will pick Donovan Jackson from Ohio State (OL) I use to work with his dad, they know Demeco well. I'm just saying......
I wouldn't have an issue with this pick. He's going to test out near the top of his position in this draft class.
Drafting 320+lbs guards and then shaming them to get into shape for this scheme is how you end up with Green all over again. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...est-rushing-teams-why-zone-blocking-here-stay "Indeed, zone runs work best when linemen can quickly move to the second level, or get ahead of the running back, and they tend to favor lighter players. Offensive lineman on the Vikings' roster average 308.3 pounds, the third-lowest in the league, according to a league database. With a bit more time to retrofit, the 49ers have the lightest group of linemen, averaging 305.9 pounds." It's unfortunate Shaq Mason fell over a cliff as soon as he got here. He was supposed to be a stabilizer.
You can say the same for other positions too, but yes, we at least are addressing the coaching deficiencies now by firing those two ineffective coaches.
Should Kelly be the Offensive Coordinator, I'm thinking there will be more than one Buckeye taken in the draft. 1 was already a safe bet.
I keep seeing Donovan projected as a third-round pick but I think he's selected no later than the mid-second round. He DOMINATED the playoffs. He can go in at left guard for us and immediately make our line much better!
I'd like to take Donovan Jackson with our #1 pick and then quite possibly Tez Johnson, WR out of Oregon who is NASTY! He's like a clone of Tank Dell but even better! With our third pick I would get the best OL/WR/RB available.
The team would be so much better if this happened They're going to re-sign Diggs, that's a given IMHO Draft Savion Williams at 1-25. Trade up into the top half of the 2nd rd and picks Jackson. If they choose not to do a major trade up I hope they end up with Jackson or Milum at 1-25 and Jalen Royals at 2-57.
FWIW this guy did a nice scouting report on the top IOL in the draft and he has Donovan Jackson #1. To me Jackson is the most battle tested and closest to a sure-thing left-guard that there is in the draft and which happens to be at our position of greatest need. For me it's a no-brainer to take Jackson at #25.
25. Houston Texans Luther Burden III · Missouri · WR · Junior The Texans are in the market for a new offensive coordinator, but they could use more help at receiver, too. Burden reminds me of Stefon Diggs, who is headed for free agency.
