I don't see how people don't see this. The biggest plus for Golden is his amazing speed from the combine. But his speed (4.2) just doesn't show up on tape like that. If we selected him over proven OL's and Egbuka that would be pretty disappointing IMO.
[Rapoport] Saints GM Mickey Loomis announced that the team is picking up the fifth-year option on WR Chris Olave but declining it on OT Trevor Penning, who is now in the contract year. and kelvin banks could go at 9
Exactly. If it happens, it should be one of those things like when we traded up for Deshaun. For example, make a deal with Miami (13) and/or Arizona (16) that if their guy isn't available then you're willing to make the trade. That's what Rick Smith use to do.
Stuff like this stresses me out. There's been so much talk about teams taking certain skill position guys, but what happens if no one outside of the Titans draft a QB in the first and teams everyone expects to take RBs or pass catchers don't? It feels like there's a scenario where 8-10 o-linemen come off the board before the Texans pick at 25, and Nick has to get desperate to trade up, or we have to settle for someone because we're so needy on the o-line. That feels like a nightmare scenario, and I hope it doesn't come to that.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I'd be happy if we traded our 1st for an early 2nd and a 3rd/4th round pick.
Texans pick at around 1:08:00-Matthew Golden "too high for booker but he's defintely in play there" "josh simmons is the most talented tackle in this class but demeco just shipped his o line out of town due to character concerns" "Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Houston I am hearing the most trying to move up"
