    Rockets.....referring to.

You bet they will trade, they are lacking shooters..........they have playmakers now......

If not for Giannis, they will pair Wemby and Harper with said shooters.

Harper is unknown. Could be a dynamic scorer or another low IQ ball handler. He wasn't and isnt Cooper Flagg or anything close. SAS getting #1 wouldve been a disaster but the NBA was giving it to the Mavs anyway so its a moot point.

Rockets need Amen to ascend to superstardom. There is no other way unfortunately. No one else on this team is capable. Id trade this pick plus Tari and Jalen for someone that fits with Amen and Sengun.

Mark my words.. The Rockets will likely try to trade for Devin Booker this off-season and in exchange giving back all the picks we have from the Suns plus some players. Durant is NOT coming here.

On a side note. Think most of us knew this was gonna happen. Luka was intentionally shipped to the Lakers for the league to survive financially. The NBA IMHO has become the worst.

PS the Spurs got #2 because of Pop being forced to retire.

And just like that the mavs are gifted the #1 pick. The spurs are gifted most likely Giannis and we’re stuck with Jalen Green #HoustonSports

I would take that trade (2030 1st). Flush this draft down the toilet and run with who we have.

I would like to go after a center in FA, but the list isn't really that great.

    https://hoopshype.com/lists/2025-nba-free-agent-rankings-the-best-players-available-this-summer/

The ones that stick out for me -

Steven Adams (I hope we resign him)
Kevon Looney (We could get him on the cheap - he would be my pick to start next to Alpi)
Clint Capela (between a 2nd run with him and Steven, I'll take Steven)
Myles Turner (would love to have him, but will be too expensive)
    Naz Reid (will be expensive)

The rest of the group....blah -

    Brook Lopez (nah)
    Al Horford (too old)
    Moritz Wagner
    Luke Kornet
    Precious Achiuwa
    Mason Plumlee
    Andre Drummond
    Jaxson Hayes
    Paul Reed
    Thomas Bryant
    Day'Ron Sharpe
    Sandro Mamukelashvili
    Jericho Sims
    Marvin Bagley
    Luka Garza
    Dario Saric
    Isaiah Jackson
    Christian Koloko
    Micah Potter
    Taj Gibson
    Charles Bassey
    Orlando Robinson
    Alex Len
    Kai Jones

For all those whining about the lottery... SGA 11th pick. Jokic 41st. Kawhi 15th.

The question is do we have playing time to develop the player. We invest so much on Jalen, Sengun, and Amen now. There isn't much for Jabari, Cam, and Reed. Do we have time for another one?

If the player is good the PT will be there as he will beat out others like how Amen beat out Jabari in the starting lineup.

Most mocks have us taking Kon Kneuppel. Kneuppel is arguably the best shooter in the draft, and the dude is like a 6'7 Reed Sheppard. High bball IQ, scrappy, diving for loose balls, good defender and also some playmaking as a connective passer. He can be the Dillon Brooks replacement.

I am ok with that but I would prefer a trade down if we can get both Rasheer Fleming and Carter Bryant.

    Lottery Reform:
Do you like this idea better/worse than the existing format? Consider it from the standpoint of parity in the NBA, not from the view of a Rockets fan.

Each pick is determined by a rolling 3 team lottery, with no team climbing/sliding more than 2 slots. Each draw will use the following odds: 37%, 33%, 30%

    #1 pick:
Teams with top 3 worst records draw.

Winning team gets the #1 pick and is removed from any further draws.

    #2 pick:
Teams with the remaining 3 worst records are put into a new draw.

    #3 pick:
If the team with the worst overall record did not get pick #1 or #2, they are assigned pick #3. Otherwise, draw like normal.

Repeat down to pick #13, where the odds change to: 52%, 48%

This can be done with 100 ping pong balls in a hopper, and each draw can be done live on stage. Time to pull back the curtain once and for all.

That’s why you don’t punt a season. You should never take it for granted because you never know what will happen the following year. The west was
wide open this year. Just getting an average shooter at the deadline and we’re still playing in the playoffs kicking the wolves butt.

    Maybe.

The flattening out of the lottery has really been cruel to the teams who need it the most, since the change, we see good teams jump into the top 5 yearly pretty much and I could not imagine being a Utah fan, watching that garbage team for an entire year with the only light at the tunnel being Cooper Flagg and then getting the #5 pick lol.

But wait...that's how we felt with the Wemby draft. Around here it was Wemby or bust but if not Wemby, Miller or Scoot would be a nice consolation prize...but turns out...Amen might have been the 2nd best player in that draft.

So I don't know. The draft is such a crapshoot that Flagg could be a bust and the next star player could be the guy picked at #5. We could all be laughing at the pick like we laugh at Ben Simmons, time will tell.

I like how it works right now, it's just it is hard to believe a team with a 2% chance got the pick is all.

I do think this method would be more fair but I think the point of the lottery is that it isn't fair. It stings for us because the Mavs AND Spurs jumped, if it were just one, that'd be one thing, but like I mentioned...we literally benefitted from this last year.

We can be honest, we weren't really complaining about that, we were like we're getting a bonus #3 pick, and we don't even know what to do with the guy.

I do think one thing the flattening of the lottery has done is REALLY supercharged the value of picks. Now, there is little more valuable than a non-protected future pick.

Most mock? Bleacher Report? One guy I think people overlook is Walter Clayton Jr. He's 22. High floor low ceiling. He could be the next Brunson. Can shoot and high IQ. If we are serious about developing Reed, drafting a PG makes no sense.
