No way in hell Jake Meyers is out for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

I remember Suarez looking up at the ball Alvarez hit to dead center in 2022....

    But he's a rental.

So what's the single player equivalent of these 3 prospects? Their #3 or #4 prospect? Would that be about right for a rental?

Seattle was ranked the 5th best farm system at the beginning of the year, that is another factor. Not like Arizona got the Astros #9, #16, #17 prospects.

Well be didn't tear his achilles.

Can't see how a calf strain keeps somebody out for 3 months.

I think the flipside of this is if they are potentially looking to move multiple players (like Castro and Correa together), they don't want to waste a lot of time on working out trade details if Correa's not on board. With Correa, asking him if he wants to go to Houston is not really offensive or going to upset him - I think everyone knows he loved his time here and the Astros loved him. So it's just a matter of knowing if he's wanting to uproot himself from Minnesota knowing they aren't competing this year (or probably next), or if he'd rather just stay settled there.

You do know this is the first year Meyers has really produced. The fact that there hasn’t been one update on his calf is concerning. I think counting on him to come back give the same production isn’t realistic.

A severe calf strain/tear can easily take 3-4 months to heal if you're talking about getting back into elite professional athlete shape. Paredes' hamstring looks to be 2-3 months and calves can be worse. No need for it to be achilles-related.

Also, the Mariners gave up more for Suarez then they got for him from the DBacks in the first place 2 years ago. The dude is k prone with a low average. Glad he's not an Astro.

Cease is their guy. Alcantara has to be just a diversion to show Astros have options.

It is going to come down to how much money the Twins are willing to eat. I am betting not enough but anything is possible.

The only way we add Alcantra is if we also trade Framber.

So we can fix Alcantara or Cease like we did Kikuchi?

Cease is cheap and a doesn't get injured. Fixing him would be a bonus apparently

He's on pace for 54 HRs and 130 RBIs.

    You're what?

And I'm certainly not putting it past our pitching coaches to do just that. I never saw coming what Kikuchi did for us. It was quite amazing to witness.
