I was wondering Dodgers and Cubs already have 5 games under their belt...completely forgot they played 2 games in Japan near the end before spring training even ended. Thought those 2 games were just spring training games only-.-
They'll let it slide until someone else does the same thing. Then they'll say they changed it too much and make them fire their Front Office and Managers.
All front offices need to submit a complaint immediately As if the NY and LA teams don't already have a salary cap advantage They've now got magic bats Individual teams shouldn't be allowed an edge through alteration of tools - they need to be uniform for everyone outside of fluctuating weight We don't have aluminum bats for a reason in the majors
We need Altuve to start hitting homeruns with the torpedo bat and then they will do something about it.
I'm confuse...why are teams allow to have their own bat designs? Shouldn't they be controlled by the MLB to keep it all the same across all teams like the balls? Seems like an unfair equipment advantage to me...aka cheating. What's the difference between that and a corked bat.
The rules around the bat is pretty simple. Made out of wood, maximum width, maximum length. The bats are not illegal at all. They are just optimized with the restrictions that have been around forever. I honestly don't know why no one has done this before. A lot of other teams will start using them. To be fair, Judge who has hit 4 homers by himself does not use the bat. He doesn't need the help. For someone like Altuve or Bregman, it could potentially help them a lot. Guys that make hard solid contact but don't have a lot of natural power.
A complaint over what? Nothing has ever stopped other teams from analyzing bats and developing better designs. It's just a different form of analytics where teams are finding legal ways to understand how to maximize their team best.
The difference is that corking is illegal. Players all have their own bats - different weights, materials, etc. As long as its within the MLB standards, I'm not sure the issue.
