Doesn't seem like that should be legal. If the Astros were the first to do this and hit all those homeruns, everyone would scream cheaters! If this is legal, then Astros better look into getting bats like these.

I'm looking at these players on each team and I honestly can't recognize almost half of them now.

I thought there was a maximum barrel width. These bats look thicker

Nice if we can win an unsustainable percentage of 1-2 run games, especially in an AL with no dominant team. Also, how about Bryan King?!

And wtf Abreu and Hader. Maybe don’t suck coming out of the gate.

There is. Rules don't say where that width has to be.

Then every team should use this type of bat if it's proving to be effective? It's a game of trend anyways.

Bregman had a solid game today but Rangers had a bullpen day for some reason so not sure how much to draw from that. Red Sox still lost though. Tuck also seemed to break out of his slump today with 3 hits.

Im highly skeptical that its anything more than an early season fluke, but If the Yankees have actually found a way to build a better bat that conforms to the established rules good for them.

They can reap all the benefits that come with thinking outside the box this season.

Feels like every time I watch the Mariners it's a close loss where Julio Rodriguez is the last out.

True. And every year we get the “could they beat the Mariners’ record?” articles in June. Then they play the Astros just before the All Star Break, the Astros do something to break their soul and they play .400 ball the rest of the way to squeak into the playoffs, where Judge goes 0-72 and Cole makes a sad face.

It’s a fun pattern, actually. Hopefully Gerrit comes back in time to be sad again.
