Watched most of the 2nd half of Cavs/Raptors.

Raptors have something good going on right now but it won't last. A 13-5 pace is not something they cannot continue. They share the ball, have good chemistry and everyone seems to understand their purpose, but they don't have enough top level talent to contend. More than likely, Ingram will get injured again and miss a lot of games.

Cavs need Darius Garland to return in the worst way. Lonzo just cannot shoot the ball well enough to play more than 12-15 mins/game. They dearly miss what Ty Jerome did last year. In fact, last year's team was probably the peak for this version of the Cavs.

I haven't watched them much, but Stats and related numbers suggest that their Starters have had better health than the Starters for some other Eastern Conference teams have had.

They have good three point shooting and tolerable Defense, so at the moment, they have a better situation than some (many?) Eastern Conference Teams.

Since you are asking for stuff beyond Stats and related numbers, my work here is done.

In a nutshell, the East is Wide Open for the Pistons.

The Raptors strength is meaningless against the Rockets. Starters are above-average for the East, and Shead, Sandro, and Gradey destroy the thinner teams in the East. Teams can't handle how spread out the Raptors offense is and how active the Raptors defense is once the starting lineups are out of the game. Against the Rockets, the bench meet a bench that could cover them and still score, and Shead and Sandro ain't doing nothing to keep Adams off the offensive glass (bad grammar added for emphasis).

Watching a game or two, it is easy to just think their bench guys just had a lucky shooting night, or to think Shead is more annoying than good.

I can’t tell if the Lakers are the 3rd best in the West or not. Clearly OKC and Denver are 1 & 2.

Noticed this. DeAaron Fox is getting the cheesiest fouls drawn. Infuriating to watch.

I knew Kon Knueppel was going to be good. Hornets should just trade LaMelo for as many drafts picks as they can and build around Knueppel and Brandon Miller.

Rumors are this will happen. Hornets are tired of LaMelo.

LaMelo has played less than half of the time over the past 4 years. He's on a 25% salary cap contract. For him to be worth draft picks, a healthy LaMelo would have to be worth at least 50% (well above the supermax) of the salary cap. I think Charlotte is hearing "we're good" a lot when asking other teams for picks for LaMelo.

My guess is LaMelo is a Hornet for a couple of more years as he either rebuilds his value such that Charlotte can get something or at the very least doesn't have that many years left at 25% of the cap such that the Hornets don't have to send stuff to unload him.

Granted, Luka got traded last year so it is possible there is a stupid GM out there and I am wrong.

The Pistons are a great team do not get me wrong but....

Boston is missing Tatum for the year.
Indy is missing Haliburton for the year.
Giannis is in and out of the lineup.

I feel like they are just feeling the void this year. Boston would be the #1 team if Tatum were healthy.

He shouldn't have even gotten 3 free throws. The Celtics fouled him when he was still dribbling but I guess the ref whistled it later when he was raising his arm. Reviewing it, they have to go when the whistle was blown so technically it was correct reversal but the ref blew it by not calling the initial foul. Tony Brothers and woman ref shenanigans.

So which was it, you had “definite knowledge” or “we came up with”?

    https://official.nba.com/pool-repor...ights-detroit-pistons-vs-boston-celtics-game/

QUESTION: What constituted the change from the two-shot foul to the three-shot foul?

BROTHERS: The call on the floor was a two-shot foul. We conferenced and had definite knowledge that he (Cade Cunningham) was in his upward shooting motion at the time the foul occurred. That’s why it was changed to a three-shot foul versus a two-shot foul.

QUESTION: Was that something you saw or something you went to video to see that he was in a shooting motion?

BROTHERS: No, that was something I saw.

QUESTION: So, there was no video review?

BROTHERS: When the foul actually occurred, the clock had stopped. When we got ready to put the ball back in play, the clock had gone to zero. So we went to replay for a clock malfunction, not to see whether it was a foul or not. And then, we got the time the foul occurred and put that time back on the clock.

QUESTION: So, it was your judgement call that it was a three-shot foul?

BROTHERS: He was in his shooting motion.

QUESTION: Being the crew chief, did you tell the other official who made the call?

BROTHERS: No, we conferenced, and between the three of us, we came up with that it was a three-shot foul.

Sure, but again the Pistons have so much potential as a young team.....that is not out of the realm of possibilities that they can get close to a Tatum led Boston.....

They were doing this without Malik Beasley's shooting....originally had a deal with him.

******* it's annoying to watch Thunder games. It's like they are already going to beat everyone and break records, why do they need the extra push from the refs? It's absolute overkill. They were placed in the most cupcake Cup group and are still getting help in these Cup games. Irritating as ****.

Not just that, but I cannot stand listening to this broadcast team. How up the Thunder’s a** do they need to be? Annoying AF.

I haven't seen anything official, but the current Buzz has Curry out at least a week.

Butler and Draymond are whining about things, but the Old Guys with their salaries are a huge burden on the team salary

    • Curry (37)......$59.6 million
    • Butler (36)......$54.1 million
    • Green (35)......35.9 million

The one young guy that is getting a fairly good salary is Kuminga ($22.5 million) and he isn't that good.

    Upcoming games for Golden State

    • Nov 29.........New Orleans
    • Dec 2..........OKC
    • Dec 4...........@ Philadelphia
    • Dec 6...........@ Cleveland
    • Dec 7...........@ Chicago
Other than maybe the game with New Orleans, the Warriors will have some difficult games while Curry is out.
