I just hope the Rockets actually get us what we want at this deadline Christmas. A legit backup big (a la Capela) and either a new starting SG or 6th man level SG. Anything other than that and they better have their receipts handy cause I'm gonna ask them to take it back.
It is a decent upgrade, but three picks and then having to sign him to a maximum contract seems a steep price. If he gives them the Carlos Boozer treatment, it is catastrophe. In a league that has a problem with players honoring signed contracts, I think this places too much value in a verbal agreement for a potentially really big contract that is unlikely to provide much value for the dollar (i.e., he'll be one of the worst players with a $200M contract).
If Siakim is worth 3 FRPs, how many is FVV worth? 4? 5? At least 2 of the picks will likely be in the bottom half of this draft. I still find it wild how a team can trade player's willingness to sign an extension and Bird rights for so much.
It was going to be a meh trade deadline with Pascal and Dejounte as the main prizes.... It is because Carlisle wants to win Now pretty bad.......or at least get into the Top 4 of the EC..... Siakam will play for a Top 1 Offense.....lol.....remains to be seen if it helps his low efficiency, I guess yeah.

I think it more unlikely than not no major piece is traded for at this years deadline for the Rockets. A backup big, maybe.
