Brown, Pressly, and France are a combined 1-11 and represent a vast majority of the difference between where Houston hoped/expected to be at this point and where they are. Their xfip vs era:

    Brown: 3.72/6.18
    Pressly: 2.74/5.24
    France: 5.37/7.46

Pretty crummy luck. Probably a 5-6 win difference if their outcomes matched their underlying numbers.

With the proliferation, legality and acceptance of widespread sports betting, I’m guessing this will be more and more of an issue. I can see a borderline prospect in an organization hearing insider info and using that info to pad a savings account for when they are out of the majors.

At what point do the HOF committee members just accept this as life and lift Pete Rose’s ban?

    This is my thought too.

If it was a 50/50 player like Chas then Cabbage makes sense, but if Tucker goes down then Loperfido can come up and start 10 consecutive games in RF.

But I could also see the Astros bring up Leon for those 10 starts in order to keep Loperfido working at 1B to be ready if the Astros DFA Abreu in 2-3 weeks.

I'm sure they have a date in mind. I wish they were more focused on giving Joey everyday 1B reps until then.

I think Joey has been playing pretty regularly at 1B in the minors. I saw a clip of a great play he made at 1B a few days ago.

Cabbage recalled but Tucker not to IL.

    Kessinger back to Sugar Land.

Tells me Tucker is out at least 2-3 games but hope is he avoids the IL trip.

I expect Cabbage to start in RF tonight.

I thought we buried Kessinger in the H next to McCullers on Weiland Island.

I'm thinking he sits out tonight and tomorrow, plus the off day on Thursday. so he should be ready for the weekend, hopefully he wears a shin guard.

I don't see how this means anything at all. Nobody has even 30 PAs in that sample.

How about the last 30 days AT LEAST ( wRC+)
    Tucker 197
    Alvarez 171
    Loperfido 158
    Meyers 146
    Bregman 133

    Dubon 114
    Singleton 96
    Caratini 95

    Pena 80
    Abreu 73
    Altuve 64
    Diaz 41

    Cabbage -9
    McCormick -57

Tucker was wearing a shin guard. As a soccer player, I can promise you that outside of wearing a full leg cast, either the ball or their foot will always find the bone.
